3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rune (6125) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 18, 2011
330ml bottle at a søndagssmagning at Absalon Hotel. Good looking with a next to clear, amber body and nice little head tophead. Smell of grapefruits followed by a juicy-like taste profile of pineapples and grapefruits. Rather sharp bitter ending. Medium bodied. Among my favourites of the series (shared with OleR, Skinnyviking and norbrewer, Copenhagen 29.05.2011).
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 planky84 (1631) - , Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 17, 2011
On tap at the CP&K Mikkeller Single Hop day. Amber pour with an off-white head. Peach and pear nose. Pear and roasted parsnip flavours with a hint of orchard fruits, never thought I’d say ’roasted parsnip’ in a rating but by Jimminy it’s there! Sharp, hoppy finish.

Draught at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Hazy amber colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of hops, fruit, malt and with grassy notes.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 GAManiac (1944) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUN 15, 2011
Not sure how different this one is than the single hop series, except for a tenth of an ABV point. 11.2oz bottle tasted alongside Tettnanger and Willamette.
This one has the biggest head of the bunch and may be just a touch lighter in color, a hazy golden amber with the head leaving a clump of foam in the middle and seriously sticky lacing.
The aroma is one of the best of this series, a big juicy citrus blast with grapefruit and pineapples dominating alongside a more subtle floral and grassy hop note.
The taste is more of the same with lots of juicy but bitter citrus, Bit of earthiness in the finish with some toasted bread in the background.
The mouthfeel is well carbonated and makes the body feel a little lighter than it really is.
Without a doubt, this is one of the better IPAs in this series. I often find myself commenting that many of these hop varieties just don’t pack enough flavor/punch to carry an IPA on their own. That’s not the case here as this compares favorably to most IPAs out there. It’s the clear winner of the three and highly recommended.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Scopey (3252) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 11, 2011
Bottle at the Mikkeller Single Hop Series tasting at the Kernel Brewery. It pours hazy amber, with a thick off-white head and moderate carbonation. The nose is lemon, lime, lemon sherbet, pine and cheese. The taste is tangy orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, sweet malt, hay and grass, with a moderate bitter finish. A solid hop and IPA.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Koelschtrinker (8491) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 11, 2011

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Skinnyviking (5956) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 9, 2011
Bottle. High creamy off-white lasting head. Hazy amber body. Grapefruit peach lemon aroma and flavor with low carbonation. Long aftertaste. Pleasant and fair amount of hops bitterness.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Fin (6180) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 6, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 25, 2011 On Tap at the Cask & Kitchen Mikkeller evening, Sat 4th June 2011 Pours orange/amber with medium white head. Fruity, tangy IPA which is noticebly harder edged than the Mount Hood that we tried it alongside. Some sweetness from the malts starting to show. Little citrussy on nose. Nice stuff. Another rather sketchy rating done on the phone. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5 Had this again, picked up in Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, 12th November 2011 consumed at home 25th November 2011. Pours orange/amber quite hazy with a medium white head. Fruity, tangy IPA which is stringy citrus, or should I say a strung out citrus flavour, nicely bittersweet. Soft in the mouth, pithy, almost getting a little dry across the roof of the mouth, nicely malty, good stuff. Strength is noticeable but it doesn’t ever get in the way. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Abio (1334) - Waasland, BELGIUM - JUN 5, 2011
At first I wasn’t a big fan of the citrussy, light dry bittering taste of this hop, but after tasting different beers with this hop included, I only learned to appreciate this one more. Amber-brown coloured beer with a pretty good head, that maybe should hold a bit longer, but sticks nice to the glass. Good bitter hops, light spiced, nice fruity hopped. Simple but decent brew. Dryness at the end is pretty good.
