COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Fra flaske på Humle i Annen mars-13: den trettende av i alt 19 i serien, og ordet inoffensive ble nevnt. IBU 72, men allikevel mild og lite dominerende. Mer ettersmak enn smak.

Sigmund (4956) - Tau, NORWAY - MAR 11, 2013
Shared 330 ml bottle at Cardinal Pub & Bar (single hop tasting). ABV is 6.8%, IBU 72. Hazy deep golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of pine, citrus and dust. Hoppy flavour, but not too bitter - the malts somehow seem drier here than in other varieties of this otherwise identical brew. Notes of resin, grapefruit and dust.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2013 Pours hazy copper with a thick white head. Aroma is citrus, light fruit and caramel. Taste follows aroma with a nice balance between bitter and sweet.

Hazy amber beer, good off white head. Dry crispy palate. Fairly bitter minerally orange. Shows fresher orange before a dry bitter finish. Not bad.

Dark golden color with a nice head. This ale really celebrates the Amarillo hop. Nice fruity citrus aroma with hints of peach or apricot. Balanced malts to back it up - but it doesn’t steal any spotlight from the hop profile. A very nice single hop.

Nice dark honey colour, hazy with a good white head. Smells like grapefruit with a hint of sweetness. Taste is a bit simple for my taste. The first impression is sweet, and I find the grapefruit bitterness in the aftertaste. An ok beer that proves its point. Probably better if you taste the whole range:) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy orange colour with a big frothy off white head. Tropical fruity and grape hoppy aroma. Medium body with a balanced sweetness and a fine bitterness. Tropical fruity and grape hoppy flavour with a fine bitter tail.

Aroma is citrus, yeast and a hint of lime/kiwi. The flavor is lime, fruit, citrus, a grapefruit pulp-like palate and a mix of tart and bitter in the finish.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Kvadrat. Pours cloudy golden with a big creamy white head. Aroma of pine, resiny some peach. Taste is smooth, lovely piney bitter hops, dry and bitter aftertaste, truly a great single hop.
