COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

330ml bottle. Hazy copper color, with big biege head. Nice sweet-bitter hoppy and fruity aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, very well balanced flavore with medium bitter and slightly dry aftertaste. Very balanced IPA.

This one had some age on it but was good nonetheless. Still a strong hop aroma of pine and floral. Nice orange-copper color that was deterred a bit by the particulates floating around. Again, most likely due to age. Strong flavors and well-blended . Bitterness was high and somewhat harsh up front but mellowed quickly. Strong malt background with some sweet and sour maltiness. Good but would have liked to try a fresher bottle.

33cl bottle. Not sure this was fresh or well stored, as the aroma is much more subdued than I expected. Giving off sweet things, like baked fruit or caramilised pineapple. Copper brown, nice head. A slight alcoholic sharpness. Enjoyable creamy mouthfeel.

Very piney aroma. Ditto for taste. Almost a whiskey-like aroma and taste not in a boozy way but deep and bitter. Caramel too. More interesting than good maybe. Not as sweet or bright as the De Molen Amarillo - bit more subdued unfortunately.

Aged IPA’s single hop comparing together with and thnx to ( all bottles ) Karin . Since all these are to old, I will judge more gentle here . They all held up pretty well , for their age , and even though I prefer fresh WAY more , they were not too bad at all , to be honoust ! Pours dark amber / almost brown . fast fading, small white head . Smell has faded bitterness, and still some faded aroma aspects . bit honey, bit harsh too , though . Caramel , cardboard , bitter taste . Bit sweet even . Aftertaste is bittersweet . Still pretty nice !

All the single hop beers of this series have a weird rubber aspect to them. Also flavours of an unpleasant darker malt. Overwhelms the hops.

Pours a hazy copper with some sediment(looks like hops maybe a touch of yeast), an averaged sized off white head and a lot of lace. Aroma is citrus, sweet tropical fruits, some resin, and a light malty backbone. Flavour is resin, citrus, light pine, medium sessionable bitterness, earthy, fruity, and caramel malt notes.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. A hazy orange beer with a zesty orange fruity and citrus flavour, spicy earthy notes and a warming fruity finish.
