COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Bottle, enjoyed september 15th 2012. Hazy dark orange body, big offwhite head. Aroma of citrus hops, grapefruit. Dry taste with cara malt, grapefruit and oranges. Good strong bitterness. Not very special in any way, but a solid cascade ipa.

Sampled at the Richmond Gathering 19. Slightly hazy amber with small particulate and faint offwhite head. Smells and tastes of old musty earthy hops. Faintly citrus, but that has faded for the mostpart. Not my favorite of the group.

From the bottle poured a yellowish brown brew with a light white head. Heavy malt aroma. Medium full bodied with malty flavor and a strong hop presence that lingers.

Bottle from State Line, shared at the 19th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a clear amber color with a large creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big citrus, tropical hops, mild earth, mild pale malts. The taste is citrus, pine, earthy hops. Slight vegetal. Medium bodied. Solid.

Hazy amber beer, small off white head. Semi soft and semi dry palate with a carbonated nip. Minerals. Mildly creamy malt, dry. Bitterish orange that turns a little sweeter at the semi dry finish. Okay but lacks something.

Pours dark amber, a bit hazy. The cap shows this has been brewed in April 2011 ! ! ! Dranken Geers beer shop should check its stocks and shelf lives before selling old ales to customers. This was supposed to be a fresh hoppy IPA. Nose: caramelised malt, toffe, a hint of guava and grapefruit (but candied, not fresh). Mouth: nice soft bitterness. Not as fresh and tasty as expected but quite good.
