3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - FEB 19, 2012
Bottle from Kihøskh, Copenhagen Parallel with Citra, Columbus, Palisade bb 15.03.13, possibly 3 months old Hazy light amber color (it seems lighter than other beers from the series), with a small head. The hop aroma comes in timidly; at first there is some caramel, puke, then some mild fruity and resiny notes, citrus fruits. Lean body, dry mouthfeel, with a good toffee flavor; here the qualities of the hop shine more than in the aroma; there are good resins, with some fruity trait and a piney finish; it has almost a British Bitter earthy, spicy, yeasty character. Long final, lean as well. Good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Palme (2252) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 1, 2012
0.33l bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen shared with The Tasting Crew. This one pours a light cloudy unfiltered orange body with a nice almost creamy and lacing off-white head. Aroma is beautifully hoppy. It has notes of fruits, ripe strawberries, and some caramel. First a bit watery then quite oily texture, average carbonation and medium-bodied. Tastes quite different from the fruity and hopy aroma. There’s some thin caramel, licorice, pungent hopy and ends nicely bitter. Good stuff!
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ughsmash (6670) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Bottled. Poured hazy medium orange with a creamy, dense, well-retained eggshell head. The aroma picked up lemon zest and fresh floral hoppage over soft pale and biscuity malts.. not my favorite of the hops, but it was reasonably well-balanced. The flavor found sharp, bitter grapefruit zest and floral bitterness over crusty bread and pale maltage.. a bit of oxidation around there too.. finished sharp and bitter. Light-medium bodied with dense, rolling carbonation on the palate.. again it didn’t really come together for me.
