COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Theydon_Bois (12869) - Tourist Town (West), Berkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 10, 2012
Dark Amber to seville orange in colour with a thin off-white head. Sour rustic earthy aroma of muted hops with a little orange citrus in the background. Tastes of caramel/toffee with a little citrus fruit and pine. Not a strong hop profile in the taste - slightly spiced. Medium bodied with a sweet and sour finish. Maybe not the best hop for an IPA? Drinkable but not one Iíd return to!

Bottle from Ledgers. Pours clear copper with a 2 finger creamy light beige head. Aroma is bready with peppery hop. Med body. Foamy carb. Flavor is earthy, lightly malty, and peppery/grassy. Odd that itís not bitter. Well, it is, but it isnít NW by a long shot. This hop ought to be good for saisons. The earthiness is in the finish.

Bottle, bought @ LIVA, Kolding.
Clear coppery golden with a big, rather creamy, off-white head. Aroma is floral, some cucumber, light citric. Light grass. Highish carbonation, fairly light and quite dry mouthfeel. Flavour has grass, caramel malty. Fairly fat and resiny with some citrus and a bit of peach. Long, lingering, sharpish bitterness. Not the best hop, really.
