COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Pours hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, fruity and alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle from Wine and Cheese Place shared among a group of five locals. Pours a clear orange-copper color with a small off-white head that leaves a bit of lace- all 19 looked like this. Aroma of dry grains and some dry and grassy hops. Flavor of light citrus, tea, and bitter hops that linger. Light-bodied, bitter, and dry. Something in this hop seemed to dry and wipe out some of the potential character. One of the weakest in the seires.

33cl bottle @ home. Hazy medium to dark orange color, big dense white to off-white head. Smell hops, malts, herbs and grapefruit. Taste malts, hops, citrus, grapefruit-bitter. Different from the other beers from this series by Mikkeller because of the herbs in the aroma. At least that’s what I get. Taste is very nice again: some fruityness, pretty bitter. Medium carbo, medium body.

Bottle, kindly shared by Skinnyviking at Rune’s hotel-room tasting in Kbh. A finger of dense off-white head, over a medium full, clear reddish-amber body. A mild, pleasant smell of exotic fruits and a light spicyness. Clean, light to medium strong bitterness. Earthy and light fruity hop flavor.

sample at Blue Monk, Buffalo. orange copper pour, floral fruitiness, amber beer maltiness, caramel malts. Bitterness was not overwhelming but a contributer hop here. Enjoyed the simplicity of the hop & overall a nice flavorful beer

33cl, new Danish brew Anno 2011, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, slightly bitter, malty and sweet, yet easy to drink, balanced, clear, rocky head, good brew

Orange to amber colour, large to moderate head, slightly off-white. The aroma is floral and honeyish, no sign of the feared catpiss notes. The flavour has some resinous notes, and is fairly bitter. Some malty sweetness too.

12 oz. bottle, pours a murky brownish orange with a medium off-white head. Aroma of spicy hops, butterscotch, and cracker malt - the spice is definitely prominent on these cluster hops. Flavour is more muted, with a slight metallic tone dulling the spiciness of the hops, no detection of the butterscotch, backed by lots of crackery malts. Sort a wet earthy quality to it too. Either this is not the most interesting IPA recipe, or the hop is kind of boring. Nevertheless, a solid thirst-quenching IPA, but lacks anything memorable or palate-tantalizing.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. The beer pours an orange color with a large white head. The aroma is full of fruit. I get a lot of apricots, peaches and oranges. The flavor is more of the same. There are a lot of peaches and oranges, as well as some biscuit and toffee malt. Low bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
