This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Ambrée légèrement trouble, pétillance moyenne, mousse moyenne vite tombée. L’amertume de pamplemousse domine dès le départ malgré quelques notes herbeuses. Trop peu de nuance...

Bottle, shared with my wife. Deep amber-orange, slightly hazy, average off-white head. Aroma is sharp conifer and light citrus with underlying caramel malt. The palate is equally hoppy and malty, with more citrus coming through than was present on the nose. The malts are nice but the hops are flattening out for sure. Very bitter finish.

Bottle from Brewdog shop. Amber color, white head. Intense bitter taste with grapefruit, pine, resin, loads of floral hops and a bit of fruits. Body is mostly dominated by hops, in a good way. Bitter finish with grapefruit and fruits. Excellent, a bit brutal IPA.

2nd for me in the Mikkeller hop series (Cascade 1). 330ml bottle from Sherbrooke Pours a hazy copper with a fairly frothy head. sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet, tangerine, meyer lemon, and mild sappy, resinous pine note.Taste is mild sweetness (citrusy, piney, floral) and a lingering bitterness - cookie dough, caramel malt character really brought out, and the sticky pine-tar, sappyness of the hops. A beautiful balanced beer that isn’t shy about its IBU.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass golden-copper coloured, nice head. Starts dry-hoppy, modest grasy, a bit soapy. Modest bitter background. Finish well balanced, a bit milder. Okay!

Poured at The Top in Gainesville. Murky brownish pour and small white head. Malty aroma, caramel, bit of hops pine. Flavor follows with big caramel malt notes, candy brown sugar, not much hop presence. Interesting but won’t return to this one.

Pours a cloudy(likely from dry hopping) amber colour with a massive sticky, dense, creamy off white head that leaves tons of lace up the glass.Aroma is tropical fruits, some caramel, and sweet orange. Flavour is resin, pine, grape fruit, medium bitterness, light grass, and mild malty sweetness. Nice balance to this one.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a lightly cloudy burnt orange with a half finger of white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, bitter orange, a little caramel and grapefruit. Taste is medium bitter. Citrus and pine. Medium bodied with a slightly slick texture. Lively carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, good. Definitely a fan of this hop.
