COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

All 19 in this hop series are shared with my husband, Anton. It’s hazy bronze with a huge, creamy head. Initially notes of pine, that vanishes after a few moments leaving mild notes of fruit and caramel. The flavour us sweet with a dry bitterness and notes of fruit, citrus and caramel – as the aroma not very powerful, more bitter, and the finish is bone dry.

Bottle 33cl. A clear golden beer with good head. Nose is on hay. Aroma is resinous, honey like, very high bitterness, toasted like, very pleasant, on the top of the series.

Oh look, i had the Galena and Super Galena hiding in my fridge. The straight Galena is a little more mild and grassy aroma. Nice peppery finish again. Smooth, easy to drink and digest hop profile.

Part of a fourth flight of four out of nineteen</IB> 4 days test. Very dense, thick-set yellow/orange head over clear orange-amber beer. Warm hops, mild hopoils; dusty finish, not very outspoken. Soft, mild bitternes (leaving the mouthfeel quite carbonated, which it is not really showing), tad woody. Finish however, is good aromatic hopoils. Medium bodied at least, and indeed feeling well-carbonaed. Slick, spiced in the finish. Decent, with less emphasis on the hop than other samples.
