COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

33 bottle @ home. Pours golden amber with some sediment and a white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is sweet and somewhat subdued with fruity hops, grapefruit, and caramel malt. Flavour is fruity hops and caramel with a dry finish.

Not a fan. Aroma has notes of grapefruit. Hop bitterness a bit harsh, could be a better balanced beer. Very cloudy but good head retention. My least favorite in this single hop series.

Countbeer (2853) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - OCT 21, 2012
Bottle: Very vast, thick and slow disappearing, or even changing, white creamy head on top of a hazy/murky dark orange amber colored beer. Smell hops, hop flowers, hop fruit, citrus, peach and apricot and some very light tints of orange, tangerine and lemon/lime. A nice creamy malts touch in the back, but overall a lovely balanced hop character in every hoppy way. Taste nice hoppy fruits (citrus, apricot, blood ranges) and bitter (hops, grapefruit and blood oranges) wherein the bitterness (floral hop) keeps growing. A fine creamy smooth mix of (earthy) hoppy ingredients (and a hint of creamy malts) not bold at all but well balanced and it grows and ends more bitter. Lovely. Aftertaste is hop bitters with floral hop and grass tints and bitter fruit like grapefruit and blood oranges. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium body with a slight fuller tint and a full creamy texture. Lovely beer. One of those beers you could drink all evening. Guess, this one fresh would kill...

espenra (764) - Kurland, NORWAY - OCT 21, 2012
33cl bottle. brewed 2012-04-04, best before 2014-04-04. No batch info. dark orange colour, darker than the previous beers, with a medium big white had that settled down fast. Aroma is more subtle and withdrawn than the others, especially Citra. Malts, bread and yeast is more present than hops and fruits. Flavour is subtle. Compared to the Citra it’s almost missing. Some notes of fruits and bitterness. Lots of malts. Dry and bitter though.

Pours a hazy orangish/brown with a tan head. Smells of malt, tropical fruit. Taste follows nose with a tart fruity aftertaste. This is a light+ bodied beer that is very smooth. Subtle but I like it.

Bottle. Poured a clear dark orange color. The head was tall and off white with good retention and lacing. Caramel and subdued pine aromas with a hint of buttery vanilla. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with mild bitterness. Malt forward caramel and toffee flavors with a bit of earthy/resiny hop.

Bottle from CASK Pub & Kitchen, London. Hazy amber brown colour, reasonable head. Resin hop & tar aroma, flavour & aftertaste. A good IPA.

Frovigalning (2025) - Örebro, SWEDEN - AUG 9, 2012
Bottle from Khioshk in Copenhagen. It poured a hazy orange-brown liquid with a dirty white head. Grassy, fruity, herbal and a hint of dill on the nose. Medium strong bitterness. Taste of grapefruit, dill and herbs. A bit to much dill for me, but I think this hops does ok solo.

11.2 oz. bottle, pours a hazy orangey amber with a small white head. Aroma of dusty herbal hops, some tropical fruits, some mandarins. Flavour of mandarin oranges, grapefruit peel and citrus hops. Not the most standout-ish of the hop series, but decent.

12oz bottle shared amongst friends. Opened along side others from the Single Hop series. I found this one to be slightly sweet but still holding true to it’s hoppy roots. Very easily drinkable and dare I say sessionable.
