This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Tasted EXACTLY the same as the Bravo version I just drank back to back so I have to cut and paste. No difference once so ever. Wish I couldíve had this fresh. Meh..Iím rating a bottle I got last year from a place where it probably sat for a while so Iím taking that into consideration. All things aside, itís not a bad beer. Tastes like an English barley wine. Aroma was OK. Hints of earth and melted caramel. Pour was a nice medium brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was all malt. Decent caramel backbone is all this beer has left with just a tiny astringent note that was probably deliciously hoppy. Nice strong carbonation stayed with this beer. Bitter thing finish.

33cl bottle, poured into an English Pint. Dark Orange colour with a generous off-white head. Hoppy herbal aroma, earth notes as well. Roasted flavours in the mouth, similar to barbacue, with a lingering bitter aftertaste. Good balance, body and carbonation. Peculiar single hop beer, like it.

Bottle from Kihoskh, september 15th 2012. Amber body, large white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity, honey, pineapple, orange peels. High bitterness, with a pineapple and lemon taste dominating over the malt sweetness. Dry and nice fruity finish.

Not my favourite, lacks that little something; I cannot put my finger on it. Still a good IPA though.

Bottled. Orange colour with an off-white head with an average duration and lacing. Aroma is hoppy, caramel and floral. Flavor is bittery with light red fruits notes. Dry in the final maintaining the initial bitterness.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy amber colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Fruity hop aroma has hints of cranberry, raspberry, other red berries. Taste is bitter hoppy with a slightly grassy and citrusy touch.

33cl bottle. Orange and amber with some bits floating in it. Small to medium , white head. Nose : tart and cooked cherries. some other cooked fruits. Pepper and citrus notes. Sip ; Oily texture, low carbonation and medium thick body. Woody and spicy dry sweet tart, develops dry and bitter notes on the end. Clove dryness is well balanced into this peppery and citrusy hop character. The beer is drinkable but it has this strong personality, almost heavy. Nether less I canít dislike it.

Hazy amber beer, little white head. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Interesting hop - mild grapefruit under a little lime. Subtle floral character. A little dry malt cream before the softer finish. All right.
