COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a dark amber colour with a small white lacy head. Aroma of fresh herbs, mint and heavy caramel. Flavour of caramel, fresh herbs, some berries, grassy bitterness, citrus and some citrus. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and rough-ish carbonation. Finishes herbal, chewy and grassy. Interesting.

33 cl bottle 6.8% abv. Aroma with grapefruit notes and cooked vegetable. Little bitternes in the taste (33 ibu) probably the lowest in the series. Not bad though but not really interesting.

Brown amber bodied, small head. Not very hoppy. Old? Pine and resin, moderate. Dusty malt base, simple. Bitterness is light, simple. (33cl bottle from Dranken Geers)

Hazy orange/copper pour. Aromas of some biscuit notes with citrus hops. A bit strange. Flavor is similar. The biscuit character conflicts with the citrus hoppy notes.

from Erzbierschof - cloudy copper-orange beer with no head retention; aroma of strawberries marmalade; a good malt body; gently sticky and fizy, some harsh bitterness; earthy almost woody and fruity hoppy finish

Bottle at Five Points Brewery, Hackney. Poured a clear, light amber with a thin off white head. Aroma of caramel, floral hops and pine. Juicy tropical fruit flavours with hints of apricot and some herbal notes. Leaves dry grains and balanced spruce like hop bitterness.

33 cl bottle
Pours hazy amber color with a large head. Aroma of grassy hops, some citric fruits, mandarin, pine and caramel. Flavor of biscuits, caramel malts, a bit stuffy hops and sweetish fruits. Strong carbonation, too biscuity and earthy flavor. Usually I don’t like Mt. Hood that much but this was decent.

33cl bottle @ home; from Geers Oostakker; side-by-side tasting with 4 others; pours hazy orange with big white head; low carbo; smell has some sweetness, wood; taste is quite bitter, dry, oily, long bitter aftertaste. Nice!

Bottle enjoyed at a hotel room in Copenhagen
Orange hazy, big frothy head. Smells of citrus zests, grapes and caramel. Moderate sweet, apple peel, zests, some fruity tones and malts. Moderate bitter, fruit peel. Ok experiment, but not very exciting
