COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Bottle. Copper colored with a tall, fluffy tan head. Aroma is hoppy with earthy notes, soft floral notes, tea and caramel. Taste is floral and earthy hops, caramel, sweet malt, light toffee, tea, and fruit notes. Body is medium with a creamy carbonation. Finishes like it began - floral and earthy hops, big caramel and tea, sweet malt, and fruit notes.

ClubGonzo (4115) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 12, 2011
Bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen, shared with Palme and friends. Pours the seemingly default (good) look of Mikkeller Hop Series: a slightly hazy orange body with a medium off-white head. Nose is licorice, herbs, grass and hints of pine. Smooth and mellow, but a bit too weak for a high score. The same goes for taste: licorice, pine and hints of fresh grass, albeit too faint for my liking. Nice, but a bit too neutral all in all.

tkrjukoff (4082) - SWEDEN - AUG 11, 2011
Bottle 33 cl, Kihoskh Copenhagen. Pours clear orange amber with a good beige creamy head leaving lacing. Aroma is malty, bready, sweetish, hoppy and fruity. Flavour is sweet, malty, bitter, a bit pungeant, nutty and carame. Finishes with nice bitter aftertaste.

crackedmachine (473) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 4, 2011
Pours amber with a very fuzzy, light-tan head. Only slightly hazy. Very aromatic grassy hops atop a caramel base. Intensely bitter and astringent. Flavor of grass and resin dominate the slightly sweet malt base. Again, intensely bitter...it practically burns. Nonetheless enjoyable, particularly after the first few sips have desensitized the palate.

Hazy amber with off white head and a nicely tuned grapefruity aroma with notes of malt and pickled orange. Taste is sweet and bitter. Body is medium, carb soft and finish is bitter and dry.

On tap at Rattle N Hum during their Mikkeller single hop series event. All of them pour pretty much the same, ruby tinged amber with medium to thick beige heads, depending on the pour. The malt profile on them is all fairly consistent as well, tending to be a bit too sweet for my tastes, often masking some of the more delicate hops. Aromas are herbal and malty. Innocuous and somewhat empty, malt and toast. Light citrus, toast and malt on the finish.

Una altre petita decepció de les Single Hop Series de Mikkeller. No totes poden ser genials. Però supera moltes altres IPA’s que per desgràcia he provat.
