This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Una altre petita decepció de les Single Hop Series de Mikkeller. No totes poden ser genials. Perň supera moltes altres IPA’s que per desgrŕcia he provat.

Draft at RnH with the whole family during the Mikkeller Hop Tap Takeover Event. Pours a deep amber body. Aroma is fruity. Mouthfeel is spicy with notes of pine hop, citrus fruit, and some undertones of sweet bread. Solid IPA.

Bottle from Wine and Cheese Place shared among a group of five locals. Pours a clear orange-copper color with a small off-white head that leaves a bit of lace- all 19 looked like this. Notes of grassy, piney hops, tea, what came across as a few different malts, cereal, and wood chips. Seemed to have more complexity than others in the series but nothing emerged strongly from the flavor. Just too light all around.

bottle... pours a really dark orange, great nice tope head, great retention and lacing, looks great... nice aroma, awesome sweet notes of pineapple with a bit of grassy hops, a bit of molasses, this is great... the taste is pretty decent, but loses a lot of the sweet/fruit notes on the nose, mostly the hops on the taste, still pretty successful

Bottle (33 cl) from Ölbutikken, Copenhagen, Denmark. Shady amber, medium off-white head. Bisquity malt aroma, with spicy and herbal hop, notes of aniseed. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Fairly dry with a firm bitterness.

Pours a coppery amber color. Nice sized white head floats atop the liquid below. Peppery and hoppy aroma. Slight bit of malt in there as well. Nice flavor of hops and malt. A bit too dry and not enough hops. Better than the Mt. Hood version, and a decent tasting dry version of IPA. More hops and a bit more body would make this one superb. But it’s still very good on its own.

Pours clear golden amber with a good sized soapy beige head. The aroma has lots of floral, flowery and powdery traits along with some toasty malt hiding in the background. Medium body that’s hints at husks with lightly sharp carbonation. The taste starts off with woody, powdery, floral, citrusy hops along with caramel malt that seems a bit sweeter than others in the series. The finish is quite resiny and dry with grapefruit, piny and floral hops. Really nice IPA, but on the abrasive side.

Bottle from Beer Planet. Bright amber body with huge puffy head. Nose of hops, really nice. Taste is a very good Nugget hop that is quite sweet, bitter and has nice caramel flavours throughout. Really delectable.
