COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Tasting Session of Mikkeller Hop Series: Tasting nr 13. Darker amber coloured beer with some lighter carbonation and a medium slightly off white head. Stronger bitter hoppy hinted aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is smouth with a longer quite bitter fruity touched ending.

Slightly juicy hops in the aroma as well as a bit earthy. The flavor is citrus, a bit of yeast and earthy with a dry finish. Not spectacular but cleans up well.

Bottle: Vast medium sized creamy head. Disappears or changes really slow into a vast and closed lacing. Almost clear amber colored beer. Smell is a creamy mix of french cheese, honey hops, malty honey, caramel, earthy hops, syrup, some roasted sugars, floral leaves and herbs, citrus, hint of barley wine ish. Taste is a creamy mix of malts and caramel, bitter, hops, grapefruit, prunes, light citrus and light peach, floral hops, honey, floral, herbs, tea herbs, grass, bitter. Aftertaste is grassy, floral hops, light grapefruit, light medium bitter, some floral notes and cheesy hops. Low to medium carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a creamy texture.

Bottle. Pours deep Gold/Amber. Aroma of fruity hop (similar to apricot and grass) and light malt. Flavor is much the same and finishes with a smooth, balanced bitter. Moutfeel is medium body with high carbonation. Overall, Good Stuff!

Bottle 33cl. A clear golden beer with good head. Nose is low. Aroma is citric, very high bitterness, grassy, acrid, not much to say.

Bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen, shared with Palme and friends. Pours the seemingly default (good) look of Mikkeller Hop Series: a slightly hazy orange body with a medium off-white head. Nose is licorice, herbs, grass and hints of pine. Smooth and mellow, but a bit too weak for a high score. The same goes for taste: licorice, pine and hints of fresh grass, albeit too faint for my liking. Nice, but a bit too neutral all in all.

Meh...a decent beer at best. Aroma mostly caramel malt with notes of hay. Pour was a nice enough medium gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was heavy on the caramel with an underlying very green hoppiness. A mix of grass and burnt hay. Weird combination, though I was happy to pick out any hop flavor in the beer. Finish was slightly bitter and sticky sweet. Decent carbonation.

light amber color, big caramel and piney nose, but myth was a bit oxadized. Not as lively or fresh as the tet. Clearly not in top shape.
