COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

"a rather pedestrian aroma on this one, but the flavor was pleasantly spicy and was the beer’s forte. other than that, another avg entry. not quite worth the coin on it’s own, but cool as part of the series."

Bottle. Dark hazy orange with a firm off-white head. The aroma is densely malty with some fruitiness--pineapple, melon, some grassy notes. Not fresh but that was to be expected. Flavour is smooth malty, again some fruit, mild bitterness. A little peppery even.

Disclaimer: bottle 6 months out-of-date but... Great pour - Massive head - as usual for this single-hop series, sweet malt totally dominates - piney/herbal hops just poke through the malt - pleasant, not a bad beer by any measure but mediocre flavour.

Hazy orange with off-white head. Nose yeasty and herbal hops. Taste medium bitter. Astringent finish.

47 theoretical IBU. Pours a translucent dark copper from the bottle with dissipating off-white head that leaves good lace. Aroma is malty sweetness, caramel and pils, slight bread on the back end. Taste follows, the hops have definitely fallen off. Easy to drink, good carbonation. Definitely not fresh, but interesting concept.

Bottle. Deep amber appearance with average white head. Malty nose with caramel to the fore and honey, oranges and a trace of medicinal cough syrup. Tastes like an amber ale with probably the lowest hop presence of Mikkeller’s single hop series. Quite light bodied for the ABV with medium carbonation.

I was looking forward to Trying Mikkeler, since it gets so many praises of being good and innovative brewer. I was excited to find It’s Hop Series at a reasonable price. Unfortunately my anticipation and excitement was not matched by high standards that everyone praises Mikkeller to live by. Everyone in supply chain is to blame… Mikkeller does not have production dates, Distributor Trying to sell the product no matter what, Binny’s not having balls to stand up to its supplier and let them know that it is out of date and no good. I was pissed… All of them were old and stale, therefore complete waste of time and money. Every time I come across bad batch I swear to stop buying anything that has no dates… I just might do that, since there are plenty of other choices… Going Back to Mikkeller Hop Series… All of them Poured A Shade Lighter Or A Shade Darker of Muddy Brown. All of them Had Smaller or Larger Floaters. Huge Head, Decent Lacing. Earthy, Stale Hops Aroma. Tasted pretty much the same: Earthy, Malt, Stale Hops. Moderate Bitter Finish… Pass It Unless You Know It Is Fresh…

Bottle. Hazy deep golden color with a thick foamy white head. Aroma of spruce, honey and dried fruits. Bitter taste with medium sweetness.
