This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Di un ottimo colore ambrato con buona schiuma persistente. Al naso molto hoppy, mentre in bocca il Palisade vien più coperto dal malto. Buon palato...

Lovely golden colour with a nice and lasting head. The smell after pouring it is quite lovely. Taste is bitter as expected and it's a dry aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml bottle - bottle date 22/03/2011. Pours deep orange/light amber with creamy white head. Aroma of caramel and peach (due to loss of freshness?). Medium body with clear greenish bitter undertone and some sweetness as well. Taste is that of pink grapefruit. Not as outspoken as other hops and Mikkeller IPAs.

The color is a nice medium amber color slightly hazy. There is a hint of hops in the aroma but mostly a malty sweet smell. The taste is fairly sweet and malty and the palisade hops kinda bounce through the beer first at the begining then it quickly gives in to the sweetness. Then again in the after taste as it balances out the maltiness. Over all worth a buy and maybe some rebuys.

330 ml @ Yngwies, all 19 varieties of single hop beers tasted at the same day in September 2011. Slightly unclear, deep golden body with a dense off-white head. Mild grassy aroma with hint of caramel, nothing impressive in the nose. Flavor feels sweet and bitter with some fruit and grass. A bit floral. Medium body and hint of apricot in aftertaste. Somewhere in the middle of the road.
