4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Stirchley Wines. Pours with minimal head, slightly hazy from fine sediment. Big fruit aromas - although these are tropical and juicy, they aren’t as overpowering as some mango & pineapple-scented beers - more of a rounded fruitiness. This comes through also in the flavour, and the hop elements seem very balanced, allowing some malt flavour through with a hint of herbaceous spiciness on the end. Good mouthfeel - not as one-dimensional as some single hop beers. First time I’ve come across this hop and I’d love to try more beers where it’s used either alone or in a blend. Seems to work well on it’s own though. Would certainly drink this beer again with pleasure.

Botella de 33 cl tomada en casa. De 2d2dspuma en mayo de 2013. Bastante buena como toda la serie. Toques de frutas, algo herbáceos y no muy amargos. Bastante interesante y para repetir sin problema.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
47 theoretical IBU. Pours a translucent dark copper from the bottle with dissipating off-white head that leaves good lace. Aroma is malty sweetness, caramel and pils, slight bread on the back end. Taste follows, the hops have definitely fallen off. Easy to drink, good carbonation. Definitely not fresh, but interesting concept.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Deep amber appearance with average white head. Malty nose with caramel to the fore and honey, oranges and a trace of medicinal cough syrup. Tastes like an amber ale with probably the lowest hop presence of Mikkeller’s single hop series. Quite light bodied for the ABV with medium carbonation.

I was looking forward to Trying Mikkeler, since it gets so many praises of being good and innovative brewer. I was excited to find It’s Hop Series at a reasonable price. Unfortunately my anticipation and excitement was not matched by high standards that everyone praises Mikkeller to live by. Everyone in supply chain is to blame… Mikkeller does not have production dates, Distributor Trying to sell the product no matter what, Binny’s not having balls to stand up to its supplier and let them know that it is out of date and no good. I was pissed… All of them were old and stale, therefore complete waste of time and money. Every time I come across bad batch I swear to stop buying anything that has no dates… I just might do that, since there are plenty of other choices… Going Back to Mikkeller Hop Series… All of them Poured A Shade Lighter Or A Shade Darker of Muddy Brown. All of them Had Smaller or Larger Floaters. Huge Head, Decent Lacing. Earthy, Stale Hops Aroma. Tasted pretty much the same: Earthy, Malt, Stale Hops. Moderate Bitter Finish… Pass It Unless You Know It Is Fresh…

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle from Appellation Wines - Cheers Ash! First thoughts - is this off? Very funky nose. Cloudy orange pour, good head, kept there by high carbonation, bit too prickly I thought. Orange notes come through on the taste, but the yeastiness o’erwhelms this one for me.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl bottle from Appellation Wines - who retired this? It’s clearly still available!
Appearance - creamy orange with a lovely pillow of lacy head.
Nose - earthy, funky, completely lacking in fruit. Maybe there’s a problem with this?
Taste - bready, creamy, citrus, definitely better on the nose.
Palate - medium bodied and creamy, long zingy finish.
Overall - there’s a problem with the nose. The rest seems fine.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Vino Wines. Murky amber body with a large, pinkish head. Excellent lacing. Sweet aroma - honey, maple syrup, tangerine and pine. Flavour of caramel, resin and flowers. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Palisade doesn’t seem to be a particularly intense hop, given the sweet malt characteristics of this beer, but it’s nice and subtle (though maybe not powerful enough to for a single-hop beer).
