Danish: Brygget på: Vand, malt (pilsner, munich, cara-crystal), havreflager, humle (Saaz) og gær.

English: This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 20 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Bottle at home. Pours lightly cloudy orange with a medium, creamy off-white head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is earthy, spicy, and light minty hops with pear esters and honey malt. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, light malt sweetness to balance, light esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Botella de 33 cl tomada en casa, de 2d2dspuma en mayo de 2013. Bastante buena y para repetir sin problema, como todas las de la serie. Tonos especiados y terrosos con amargor final contenido. Muy buena.

Bottle from Vino Wines. Murky amber/brown body with a medium off-white head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of grass, fresh herbs and leafy greens. Flavour is a bit imbalanced - such a clean, green hop against the sweet malt just doesn’t work. It’s not offensive exactly, but this hop just isn’t suited to the style. Nice bitterness. Medium body with an oily texture. Average carbonation. One of the weaker efforts of this hop series.

Finally captured the last of the Hop Series. Yippee. That’s like 20 IPA, love it. This one pours out of the 33cl bottle with a murky deep copper body that supports a tan head. The modest aroma offers up a mix of citrus, spicy hops, floral hops and some earthy hoppiness. There’s a malty backbone in there too to help thicken up the aroma. The taste begins with a neutral sweet maltiness and then it moves into malt sweetened citrus hops, some firm floral hops and then spicy hops that have an edge of hop bitterness to them. This works pretty good by itself but not great. I enjoyed it.

Bottle from Yamaichi. Good caramel nose, spiced up with the hopping. Hazy orange/amber color. Very mild but interesting blend: sour peaches and spicy hops. Some alc. warmth. Pleasant enough. The Saaz tastes and smells quite different here than in a Bohemian pils.

Bottle (330ml). A hazy amber beer with an ample off-white head and decent lace. Nose is malty and quite sweet with caramel and grassy hops. Taste is similar with a medium dry hop bitterness. I normally associate Saaz hops with Bohemian pilsners but this is totally different and quite interesting.

I was looking forward to Trying Mikkeler, since it gets so many praises of being good and innovative brewer. I was excited to find It’s Hop Series at a reasonable price. Unfortunately my anticipation and excitement was not matched by high standards that everyone praises Mikkeller to live by. Everyone in supply chain is to blame… Mikkeller does not have production dates, Distributor Trying to sell the product no matter what, Binny’s not having balls to stand up to its supplier and let them know that it is out of date and no good. I was pissed… All of them were old and stale, therefore complete waste of time and money. Every time I come across bad batch I swear to stop buying anything that has no dates… I just might do that, since there are plenty of other choices… Going Back to Mikkeller Hop Series… All of them Poured A Shade Lighter Or A Shade Darker of Muddy Brown. All of them Had Smaller or Larger Floaters. Huge Head, Decent Lacing. Earthy, Stale Hops Aroma. Tasted pretty much the same: Earthy, Malt, Stale Hops. Moderate Bitter Finish… Pass It Unless You Know It Is Fresh…

Good aroma, hazy appearance, poured with a good head. Not as hoppy as I had hoped it would be - I guess it's a demonstration of a single hop variety.

Tap. Pours very hazy, amber with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus notes and grass. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily text. and flat to soft carb. An OK but not in anyway a big IPA.
