COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Clear amber of color with an off white head. An aroma of fruit, spice, dust, oranges and sweets. A flavor of spice, hops, herbs, dusty, dry and pineapple.

33cl bottle (BB:? Wish Mr Mikkeller would entertain the non-avantgardist concept to put a BB stamp on the label, so as to judge these hops by their decay time..) This crazy Japanese hop is all over the place! - at least in this mix, as I enjoyed it in Troubadour Magmaís edition for it. Soap all over the place, but soap mixed in with exotic fruit juice, well placed on a full malt base, a soapy coat cloaked over a malty--- (etc.) Picked up (stale-ish) lemongrass, which is the one herb that always wastes away in our fridge for weeks after having cooked Thai for once; the kiwi remains a hint, anything else Iíd have to guess, as I had a mouth full of soap to come to terms with! - Schizogenetic plus feature: this had the same great round body of all the other Single Hops Series. Hm, weird fruity soapy head + tasty round body...? Mikkeller should re-dub this the Bathing Anna Nicole RIP/IPA!

Bottle, september 15th 2012. Hazy amber body, low beige head. hoppy aroma; lemon grass, peach, bubble gum and pineapple. Malt is more present in the taste, with a balancing caramel added to the pineapple, cocos and citrus taste of the hop. Bitterness is nice and clean, and the beer finishes quite hoppy with a fruity aftertaste.

Pours hazy amber with a thick, white, short lived head. Aroma is overwhelmingly of fennel with liquorice and slight hint of mint. Flavour isnít as well developed, with fennel still dominating with a iron like taste in the background with perhaps a little spice or ginger. Moderate carbonation. Fairly enjoyable although Iím not sure Iíd want much more than a bottle an evening.

Hazy amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Minerals. Lactose and lemon citrus. More cream towards the finish which has a minerally carbonated bite. Slight bitter aftertaste. Nice IPA!

11.2oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a lightly cloudy, dark orange with almost no head. Aroma is super fruity. Tropical fruits and citrus out the wahzoo! Flavor is dry with loads of citrus and tropical fruits...also a little bready. Medium bodied with a slick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, Iím really loving this beer. I canít wait to try it again.

Keg at Cask. Orange brown colour, golden head. Aroma is fruity, sour creamy, herbal, bit of fruit too in background. Taste sour cream and chive, herbal, lively sorachi ace. Very nice. Bubblegum and cherry. I love Sorachi Ace!

Cunningham (4000) - Halden, NORWAY - JAN 5, 2013

Appearance: Hazy orange colour with a fine frothy off white head with a nice lacing.
Aroma: Tropical fruity and grape hoppy.
Palate: Medium body with a balanced sweetness and a fine bitterness.
Flavor: Nice complex flavor. Tropical fruity and balanced grape hoppy. Light spicy background
Overall impression: Nice IPA with a well hidden alcohol. Did not feel any big difference to some of the others in this series. Although it had some spices in the background.
Location: Bottle from Vinmonopolet Oslo - Vika in Oslo, Norway
