3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33 cL bottle from Binnyís Beverage Depot in Chicago, served in a tulip. Pours clear amber with a tall, pillowy tan head. The head remains and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are notes of caramel, flowers and citrus. The flavour is moderately bitter with caramel, pine, grapefruit and flowers. It becomes more bitter towards the end, and closes with a long, dry peppery hoppy finish. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, milky texture and average carbonation. Overall, a well constructed IPA designed to show off the Super Galena hop. Definitely not one of my favourites in the series; it had a nice bitter finish, but the nose disappointed. 2012-06-07

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle from the Party Source in Cincy/Kentucky. Brown pour with off-white head and visible floaties. Aroma of herbal, citrus, spice, grass. Tastes are bittersweet, red fruit, caramel, herbal, yeasty. Not sure Iím getting what I should out of this single hops. Would probably have to do them side by side and even then. Generally, decent to sip on.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
As goes for all the Hop Series beers Iíve tasted: the bottles were probably quite old, best before of April/May 2015, so some of the hop characteristics might have already gone away. Nice orange color with big head (darkness varied a bit). Fresh and light smell. More ananas, just like galena. Cellar smell. A bit bretty? Maybe this bottle was infected. Anyway, bready-bitter malt taste, but a different bitterness than most other hops. More tangy.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a lively pour and a thick foamy off-white head that burns away gradually. Patchy lacing. Aroma of grainy malt, fruit and hops. Medium body with flavors of grainy malt, dark fruit and earthy hops. The finish is fruity with a short hoppy aftertaste. I assume this bottle is older despite being bought recently, but it is tough to blame the store and not the brewer for not providing dating. Decent overall.
