4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow, one of the best examples ot a Tettnang beers Iíve ever had. Thatís unusual for me as itís usually one of my least fav hops. Poured with an enormous frothy, fluffy, sudsy, foamy, airy, off white head and lots of lace. Color is a clear medium amber with some bubble trails. Flavor is, to me, surprisingly balanced and on the mild side. Plenty of malt and, of course, the Tettnang to stand up to it. Plenty of bitterness, but not in extreme, not a lot of fruit, only hints (not a fan of the overly fruity hops) and some caramel, malt, chewy malt, a little toffee, bread dough, and cookies. Body is perfect for style and same for carbonation. Finish is like flavor and easy while tapering to a moderate length. Really good. too pricey for session but certainly of exceeding quality.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. A clear one, dark golden in color and with a dense, off-white fingerthick head. Lacings. Caramel and a generic fruityness tending towards banana. Caramel borderline butterscotch and a herbal touch. Smooth as hell, dry and lightly warming. Pleasant bitterness and fruityness in the flavor. Overall, drinkable indeed, but not my favorite in any way. 110908

I love beer. I know what I like and I like this one a lot. Youíll notice that I donít throw around a lot of fancy terms when describing beer and wine. All Iíll say is that this one had a unique flavor and aroma, almost tangy. It didnít taste like an IPA, but that didnít mean it wasnít good.

Sampled at Mikkeller Hop Series tasting - Dahlbergs, Helsingborg. August 2011.
Very round and sweet aroma, a bit stale unfortunately. Fruit notes with passion fruit dominating. Grass in the taste, slightly astringent. Pronounced bitterness.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2011-08-10. Crisp dark orange, small beige head. Flavour has a tea like note up front, mild green hop notes with a character that I canít quite place. 6+ Aroma is tea like, bit of muted earthy notes. 5+ Average plus palate. Do not care for the hops. Mikkeller IPA Tasting at Coleís, Buffalo

All 19 in this hop series are shared with my husband, Anton. Itís hazy bronze with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, straw and fruit. The flavour is sweet with notes of malt, flower, caramel, fruit, straw, and the finish is dry. Itís very straightforward and nice. It was the last of the series tasted over a 1 week period.
