This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Pours hazy amber color with a large head. Aroma of grape fruits, hops, some grass and goose berry bush. Flavor of caramel malts, grape fruits, goose berries and some wooden notes. Medium carbonation, bitter fruity palate with a harsh malty finish. Some weird off-flavors. Not very pleasant.

Tap at Brewdog, Leeds. This has the exact same aroma as the first beer I ever drank, about 30 years ago. That was Wards Bitter, brewed up until 1999 in Sheffield. It tasted not unlike it too! Sold.. to the gentleman with the big nose..

Peu d amertume, un final terreux, racines. Cette single hop est très agréable et discrète

Bottle from Beer Cartel. Hazy orange/amber, citrus, pine, grass, spicy/peppery, quite subtle, nothing stands out, but quite nice.

from Erzbierschof - hazy dark amber beer with a little foam left; aroma of spices and almonds; honeyish; pretty aromatic; a good malt body; decent and rounded bitterness, more gentle spicyness and herbal tones in the finish

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark golden, nice head. Mild-hoppy aroma. Starts flowery-hoppy, modest soapy. Dry background, not too intense. Finish milder. Okay.

Bottled. Hazy orangeish amber colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is bready and caramel malts along with fruits, toffee and some slight herbal and hayish notes. Flavour is grassy, flora, mild fruityness along with some bready and caramel malts to it. Quite mouthdrying palate and a nice fresg grassy and floral aftertaste.
