COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a deep golden with quite some impurities and a dense and frothy white head leaving a neat lacework. Subdued hop aroma, clearly Continental. Medium body, sweet and malty with a little phenols, dry and dusty. Ends dry and not overly bitter. None of the citrusy notes as found in the PNW varieties. Good though. 040511

Hazy amber beer, tidy off white head. Softish dry palate. Dry creamy malt. Bitterish hops - tangy with just a hint of fruits. Minerals. Finishes soft and dry. All right but not my favourite hop.

Beautiful amber color, bright and clean, with a generous thick head; the carbonation level seems high, but also producing a nice fine perlage. The aroma has some caramel, and also a creamy trait; later, a light grass and hay touch. The mouthfeel is dry and lean; ordinary caramel flavor, a bit boring; correct bitterness, with some hop oils perceived on the tongue, but not much aromatic components. Long final.
It could as well be an English IPA.
