COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

12 oz. bottle, pours a hazy orangey amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, grapefruit zest, backed by caramel malt - some pepper notes as well. Flavour of tropical fruits, pineapple in particular, with citrus hops, grapefruit zest and some yeast. Some tree bark in there as well. Solid single hop rendition.

Beautiful amber color, hazy; it seems paler than the others, with a medium sized creamy head. The aroma is generic. Dry mouthfeel; dry caramel flavor (drier than most of the others, and driest in this lot); the body seems leaner too; very strong bitterness, with a lot of hop oils and some resins.
A good thirst quencher, but not as interesting as the ones with fruity hops.

Deep golden pour with a tight white head. The nose is a little bit orangey but also with a sort of odd candy sweetness that is fairly unique. Very little character to this one - just a cleanly bittered IPA with a little bit of sticky resin and very faint apricot on the finish. Meh - I guess now I know why it’s a bittering hop.

Bottled 330ml (Beer Planet)
Deep amber-copper color, good creamy off-white head. Flowery, a bit piney aroma with yeasty-earthy notes. Medium-bodied. Front is a bit caramel sweetish and then typical Warrior bitterness rides in. Strong citrusy-piney bitterness with some fruity-caramel maltyness in the background. Long lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Good IPA although with Warrior as a single hop, quite simple (really?).

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours an almost clear deep golden with a rich white head leaving some lacework. Dry, dusty, fruity hops. Medium body, sweet fruitiness with a fairly bitter and almost astringent finish. A little rough. 040511

330 ml @ Yngwies, all 19 varieties of single hop beers tasted at the same day in September 2011. Slightly unclear, deep golden body with a dense off-white head. A bit mild, fruity aroma with caramel. Flavor is bitter, but does not really feels like 115IBU compared with some of the others above 100 IBU. A quite straight forward IPA with not so much more depth besides general citric fruit and caramel malt. Quite bitter aftertaste.
