3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle. Amber with two finger head. I’ve had a bunch of these now, and this follows the standard of a substantial caramel malt base. Moderate sweetness. Hops are bitter and a bit earthy. Decent, but not amongst my favorites in this series.

Bottle - good size foamy head, murky light brown color, big pine hop aroma and flavor, moderate sweet malt backbone, not bad overall

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy dark orange colour with medium beige head. Nice lacing. Lots of floating sediments. Citrusy aroma. Taste starts fruity, sweet and finishes with moderate bitterness with hint of spices. Overall very good IPA.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours reddish copper with sediment from my careless pour. The mild aroma has caramel, bread with a mildly spicy and subtle hop presence. Moderate carbonation. Has a clean malt flavor of biscuit and caramel with a quick floral note that quickly fades. Finishes with a mild hop bitterness that is slightly spicy and leaves a lingering spicy/peppery flavor. This one was brewed for educational purposes and to rate it alongside other beers is probably a disservice. I love this concept and appreciated the experience that Mikkeller is providing with this offering.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
As goes for all the Hop Series beers I’ve tasted: the bottles were probably quite old, best before of April/May 2015, so some of the hop characteristics might have already gone away. Nice orange color with big head (darkness varied a bit). Bready, earthy-bitterness. Not so classic IPA-hops aromas in there. But the bitterness gives a nice finish.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
"a nice fruity aroma greets the nose. other than that, though it was a pretty average beer. nothing bad but nothing that stood out in the flavor. ibus in the 30s are too low for an ipa."

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, and probably quite old. Hazy amber color. Decent head, mediocre retetion. Not getting a lot from this beer. Some small earthy tones, slight metallic after taste. Will question any recipe that calls for Willamette.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle from Thistle News. Muddy dark amber brown, not much head. Resin grain aroma and flavour. Bitter aftertaste with a hint of caramel. This is not a good hop.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle Rehills Newcastle. Slightly hazy red beer, with little to no head and a fair amount of sediment. Toffee and yeast aroma, apple flavours on the tongue. Semi sweet and tasty enough, but just lacking something to give it a bit more life. The finish is a bit like a Belgian Triple, strangely enough....
