COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

This pours hazy amber, with medium off-white foam head. This beer was brewed in 2011, so is not bitter nor hop-aromatic anymore. Because of Dranken Geers: huge beer shop but not serious for the shelflives! More than 3-4 months for a single hop IPA is a non-sense. All the identity and typicity of the beer is in its hop variety. Hop flavours and bitterness decrease really quickly. It smells like an old ale with some remaining hop notes but very light. Clean with a good mouthfeel, great beer but not an IPA anymore. (the 9 Single Hop IPA* I bought in Dranken Geers shop: Mt Hood, Galena, Super Galena, Tettnanger, Challenger, Cascade, Nugget, Cluster, Willamette ... all were old Ale like and not IPA like anymore)

Very hazy darkish amber beer, good sized off white head. Crispy palate, semi dry, it gets a little softer. Mildly bitter tangerine. Minerals. Increasing bitterness towards the finish. Not bad.

Draft at the Craft Beer Company, Clerkenwell. Aroma of rich fruit and caramel. The flavour is rich, slightly bitter and medicinal. A nice flavourful beer, but quickly becomes a little too much.

Bottle shared care of theydon bois in Craft Beer Co. Colour is cloudy darkish reddy brown, thin off white head. Nose is caramel, syrupy, sugary, malty. Taste is syrupy, fruity, something like syrupy raspberry in there. Sweet and not really much going on for me.

Cloudy amber, wonderful mikkeller mouthfeel. Sweet citrus to raspberry with woody undertones. One of the best of the series. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a cloudy golden colour with a long lasting white head. Aroma of citrus and caramel. Flavour leans more to the woody notes together with pine. One of the better in the series.
