2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JEK69 (359) - FRANCE - JAN 17, 2013
This pours hazy amber, with medium off-white foam head. This beer was brewed in 2011, so is not bitter nor hop-aromatic anymore. Because of Dranken Geers: huge beer shop but not serious for the shelflives! More than 3-4 months for a single hop IPA is a non-sense. All the identity and typicity of the beer is in its hop variety. Hop flavours and bitterness decrease really quickly. It smells like an old ale with some remaining hop notes but very light. Clean with a good mouthfeel, great beer but not an IPA anymore.
(the 9 Single Hop IPA* I bought in Dranken Geers shop: Mt Hood, Galena, Super Galena, Tettnanger, Challenger, Cascade, Nugget, Cluster, Willamette ... all were old Ale like and not IPA like anymore)
