3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy orange colour with a lasting white head. Iím not too keen on the aroma, slightly soapy, phenolic, yeasty, some fruit, green apple. Thought this might be infected but it tastes great. Juicy fruit, apricot, hint of ginger, not hugely hoppy. Enjoyable but the aroma lets it down for me.

Draught at ÷lrepubliken on October 29, 2012
During the tap take over from Mikkeller and To ōl.
Slight bit hazy golden color, creamy off-white to yellow head. Very hoppy, floral, citrus, pine, US hops, sweet, caramel, touch of alcohol taste. Bitter and sort of spicy aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.
Nice and sweet, mmm.
Sweet, hoppy, spicy scent.
Taste is awesome, a bit less aBV and I could drink many of this in a row.
Donít feel any ginger, but then Iíve noticed in the past that I donít seem to pick up on ginger in beer.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2012 Bottle. Pours orange, super hazy, with creamy white head. Notes of wet forrest, burned caramel, the nose sticky thing in ginger, some cooked vegetables, red grape and orange cest. Very fruity, complex and refreshing. The spices and the high abv adds a warming christmasy feel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cl. bottle poured in to a tulip. Lovely, slightly hazy copper-orange colour with a small white head. Aroma with lots of hops: Citrus, grapefruit, pines and floral notes. Malts are biscuits-style. Taste is medium bitter. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. Finishes bitter and spicy with ginger and citrus fruit. Nice IPA, the ginger is a good addition.

Lovely beer. Pours with a haze. Lots of aromatics on the nose. The taste is like an IPA, but then you get the hit of ginger which lasts a long time.
Really nice and smooth.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
THOUGHTS: Nice balance. Good transition. Not Christmasy at all, but very good. There was just enough ginger to make it more interesting, but if I didnít know it was in there, I probably would have just thought the slight burn was from the alcohol because there was more heat than actual flavor.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured either light, orangey amber or dark, golden yellow with a large, sort of creamy, slightly off-white head that mostly but very slowly diminished leaving excellent lacing. The aroma had light caramel; moderate to heavy pine apricot and tropical fruit hops; light to moderate resin hops; honey and hints of ginger. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and light to moderately bitter; while the finish was light to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. There was caramel, honey, ginger, citrus hops, pine hops, pine, resin hops, pine, apricot and tropical fruit hops. The light to medium body was dry with fairly soft carbonation and a slightly metallic finish.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A-- Poured a hazy straw orange color. Big, fluffy, one finger of white head. Head fades pretty quickly leaving a solid looking ring of soapy lacing. Looks a bit better on swirling.
S-- Mostly citrus. Faint at start but builds well. Orange, grapefruit, and lemon. Very little malt backbone detected.
T-- Lots of grapefruit and orange. Quite pungent. Not a lot of sweetness in this at all.
M-- Started of dry and became quite oily. Little bit sweeter in the feel. Well balanced beer though more hop forward . Lower carbonation and somewhat heavy feel.
O-- To me more of an IPA than a DIPA. Good beer either way. Nose is not that aromatic but it makes up for it in the taste and feel. Good Christmas seasonal. Perfect for this climate and a Christmas at the beach.
