Pours gold into a snifter. White head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Pine resin and grapefruit aromas. Sweet with bready caramel upfront turning to resin before the lasting grapefruit finish. Not picking up any ginger.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Sparrow-Downtown, 12/6/12, Rater #200, thatís an interesting coincidence

Aroma: The nose is fairly heavy on citrus hops, with a pine tree presence, and a hint of spice
Appearance: Pours a clear bright orange color with a thick, foamy off-white head and fairly heavy lace
Flavor: It tastes fairly sweet up-front, with a medium-plus hop bitterness, and a mild spice component
Palate: This one has a fairly creamy feel, a really nice drinkability, soft carbonation, and a dryish finish
Overall Impression: I found this to be another really impressive IPA from Mikkeller. I didnít really get any of that ginger in this one, I expected more of an IPA combined with a winter spice beer, but this is really just a straight-up IPA, and it is a straight-up IPA done right. Nice job here!

Bottled. Amber colour, rather hazy, lacy head. Aroma has piney and herbal hops, sweet berry notes and some caramelized ginger. Sweet, berryish and bitter taste, resiny bitter finish. Fresh and frothy texture, medium body. Nothing special but pretty drinkable. A bit too sweet.

Pale deep golden pour, foamy/frothy off white head and light sticky lacing ... aroma of citrusy and piney hops with a nice rindy grapefruity hop to it .... taste of piney and citrusy hops with a nice bitter rindy bite, grapefruity, little earthy and light caramel malts .... Ginger isnít really present at all ... Finishes with a lingering bitter hop bite ... Abv hidden well.

Bottle. Inviting fruit, zesty hop aroma. Flavour is more of the same with a strong but not overpowering bitterness. Couldnít taste the pine or ginger but a very good ipa nonetheless.

On tap at Apex, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is quite medicinal, with some nail polish remover and sweet candied sugar. Flavour is very medicinal as well, with cosmetic qualities, nail polish remover especially, candy sweetness and almost no hoppiness. Either off or just unpleasant to my taste buds. The cosmetic qualities are very unpleasant. Bad stuff.

Pousr a hazy orange colour, like marmalade, with a slightly off white head, which initially was huge. A thin head remained throughout. Plenty of hop bitterness and citrus on the nose. Taste is different, bitter, but less citrus, more of a light tropical fruit taste, some ginger in the aftertaste. Decent level of carbonation, good body to the beer, slightly oily in texture. As said, some ginger on the aftertaste and plenty of bitterness. Good beer.

draught@Erzbierschof - hazy dark blond beer under a solid and long lasting white foam; fair yet subtle aroma of quince marmalade, slightly piney and with notes of cider; solid malt backbone, moderate carbonation and pretty sticky palate; a well-present bitterness and a dry finish with more fruity hoppy tones (pear and quince) and an earthy touch as well - beautiful

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2013 Bottle, courtesy of TM. Pours amber orange with a large, beige head. Aroma is lots of pine, some grapefruit, a bit of passionfruit. Taste is mostly pine, light on the caramel. Palate is stingy, a bit light. Not bad, but not sure where the ginger or pine needles come in.

330ml brown bottle. golden coloured beer, haze. giant white head, creamy, sticky, huge. Nose has some candy sweet notes, zest of orange. Taste starts sweet, gets overtaken by sharp citrus notes, oranges, zesty. Finishes with decent lingering bitterness, sharp citrus peel notes and a faint pine hint. Dries out a bit in the end. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Nice beer, ginger isnít leaping out, but I can tell itís there. Enjoyable.
