This spontaneous fermented beer has been aged in Hungarian oak barrels and appears with a light amber color with almost no head.

The aroma is huge and very vinous. A clear impression of oxidized apples is the first thing that hits you, which made us think of heavy old fashioned British apple ciders. The aroma also reveals the wooden notes from the barrels along with some burned toffee and spices like Star anise.

It has a very heavy acidic profile at first, one that quickly slides into a smooth kind of sweetness. We taste green apples, carambola and very young green grapes. It has a certain lactic acidic touch and a creamy dry finish that lasts forever and bares the green impressions through.

Some mild creamy blue cheese on roasted rye bread would work great due to both the lactic and acidity impressions in this beer.

Bottle, 06/09/2014. Pours burnished copper, small white head fades to an almost still surface. Aroma is earthy barnyard, mildly tart, overripe apricot, peach, citrus overtones, nicely funky, hay, touch of caramel. Taste is nicely tart, mildly sweet apple, citrus, mild acidity and funk in the middle, wet wood finish, finishes clean. Light body. Well done geuze, enjoyable.

375 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Clear orange. Small white head that doesn’t last. Smells oaky and sweet. Smells like a very sweet lambic. Tastes of toasty malt, sweetness, lambic tartness. Lots of oak in the finish. Low carbonation. Medium body. Pretty authentic lambic flavor. Too sweet to be truly great, but I appreciate it nonetheless.

Hazy dark golden with a small white head. Funky, complex aroma with raw wood, barnyard, hay and leather, with some fruity notes of apple and ripe grapes. The flavour is tart with wood and vinegar notes, sour, unripe apples, along with a sweeter fruity notes. One of the most complex and interesting lambiks I have had from Mikkeller

Bottle at home. 2014 edition. It pours pale amber with a small white head. The aroma is green apples, grapefruit, wood, oak and citrus. Citrusy and acidic flavor but not tart. Oak and wood. It’s great. Quaffable yet complex.

375ml bottle from Brewdog.com. Pours hazy orange with an encouragingly cheesy, bretty aroma. Taste is complex with green apple, blue cheese, some mangos and apricots. A captivating gueuze.

37,5cl bottle 2014 Vintage, bb-2024. Impressive, clean "homage" to Girardin Black Label it seems, pleasant if not radiant in aroma: sweet starfruit, young cider, still some hop fruitiness it seems. Shines in spot-on "lambiek doux" character: green grape juice mollified with some lactic components, cassonade and heavy oak barrel. Pleasant, oddly fresh hop aroma, best of Mikkeller does lambiek old hop. Very well balanced, and smoothly drinkable if not really pedio or brett complex in the wild barnyard/Pajotten sense. If Girardin Black and more hardcore 3F weren’t less than half its price it would be among the more serious "foreign (by Proefbrouwerij)" competition to the real thing, now it is its gentrified cleaned up, up-market alternative.

Bottle @ Kihoskh, Copenhagen. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Lots of Wood , barnyard and notes of lemon and bread. Good funk. Girardin black leaning towards 3F Oude Geueze. Dry end. Impressive!

Apply, cidery aroma. Clear orangey, light head doesn’t last. Tastes apply, cidery, acidic, refreshing. Nice creamy body. Enjoyable, but not feeling as much of the oak as I’d like to.

37.5cl bottle at Kulturhuset. Best before 2024-03-27. Lightly hazy orange colour with no head. Aroma is classic limbic with lots of Brett and farmhouse. Notes of ripe fruits. Flavour is lightly sour. Bitter but not massively bitter. Brett and farmhouse again as well as ripe red fruits. Lots of citrus. Some hints of tropical fruits. Lingering aftertaste.

W aromacie nadspodziewanie słodko, lekka winnosc i brzoskwinia dominuje nad dzikością i lekką dębiną.
