COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This spontaneous fermented beer has been aged in Hungarian oak barrels and appears with a light amber color with almost no head.

The aroma is huge and very vinous. A clear impression of oxidized apples is the first thing that hits you, which made us think of heavy old fashioned British apple ciders. The aroma also reveals the wooden notes from the barrels along with some burned toffee and spices like Star anise.

It has a very heavy acidic profile at first, one that quickly slides into a smooth kind of sweetness. We taste green apples, carambola and very young green grapes. It has a certain lactic acidic touch and a creamy dry finish that lasts forever and bares the green impressions through.

Some mild creamy blue cheese on roasted rye bread would work great due to both the lactic and acidity impressions in this beer.

Bottle, 06/09/2014. Pours burnished copper, small white head fades to an almost still surface. Aroma is earthy barnyard, mildly tart, overripe apricot, peach, citrus overtones, nicely funky, hay, touch of caramel. Taste is nicely tart, mildly sweet apple, citrus, mild acidity and funk in the middle, wet wood finish, finishes clean. Light body. Well done geuze, enjoyable.

Looks like apple juice, basically. Sightly hazy amber colour with a basically non-existent head. Aroma of white wine, horseradish, caramelised sugar and of that sour candy spray I used to like as a kid that was supposed to color your tongue green and taste like sour apples. Upfront sourness, then a strong alcoholic note. Sour aftertaste. No sweetness, no bitterness. No dryness, smooth and rather weak body with a fizzy carbonation.

Bottle, 0.375l. Clear amber color with thin frothy and totally diminishing off-white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of yeast, must, wheat, barrel and mild green apples. Taste starts with citric acidity, green apples and wheat, following is vinous with oak characteristics, mouthfeel is crisp and dry, while moderate tannin bitterness is present at finish. Light to medium body, thin texture and fizzy carbonation in palate. Worth of waiting one and a half year to be put out of the stock...

Bottle. Orange copper pour. Aroma of horseblanket, oaky vanilla, tart and apple. Nice taste of puckering barnyard, horseblanket, oak, vanilla, apple, grape and a nice tart vanilla finish. Fantastic beer.

Clear orange pour with a vigurous white head with little retention. Smells funky, with notes of barnyard, citrus, sodium bicarbonate, champagne yeast and vinegar. The taste is dominated by sour vinegar, together with grape must, sodium bicarbonate and grapefruit. Refreshing and thirst quenching, medium to light body and high carbonation with a sour aftertaste.

375 ml bottle. Cloudy golden body with a small white head. Nice funky aroma with fruit, this one as a lot in common with French apple cider in the nose. Flavor is sweet and sour with fruity acidity, wood and pleasant funk. Really tasty and balanced, fine body as well and pleasant aftertaste. Not really super complex, but well-made with high drinkability.

375mL bottle Aaron’s Chevron, thanks for the tastes mate!! All around a very good gueuze. Don’t get too many of these around here to compare with it. Musky wet straw aroma comes straight out, and yes very cidery as well. Clear orange with slight head and lingering bubbles that stick throughout around the rim. Great funk with a touch of sweetest that was pleasant as well as surprising. Wish there was more, Cheers...

New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle: pours a brownish clear copper with a wee head. Aroma is tree, vinegar, slight wine, cider, and more vinegar. Taste at first is quite sour. A bit of sweetness in there. Slightly sour and sugary aftertaste. Notes of the tree throughout. Some candy. Natural and artificial flavors. Pretty fun.
