Oh God did I need that. I true hop fix for a guy that hasn’t tasted fresh citric and grapefruit hops like that for almost 3 months. Some have come close in that time, but this was really a fine example of all the hop bombs I got used to in the States. Big aroma of resin, citrus, grapefruit, caramel malts. Taste is all hops initially, but as the beer warmed just a little, more of the complexity came out, and there is a solid malt backbone that just needs time to show itself. That you Mikkel, I needed that.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Appearance: clear dark amber / copper color with a thin white head and an OK lacing, but not great (due to low temperature of the beer).
Aroma: a metric ton of hops: fruits, pine, grass. Also some caramel and earthy notes, but very subtle. Alcohol is also present, but it’s in the back and doesn’t bother me that much. It is an Imperial IPA so you kinda have to expect some alcohol notes in the aroma I guess.
Taste: citrus, caramel, lots and lots of bitterness and some sweetness in the back as well. No traces of alcohol in taste, but it warms you pretty nicely. A bit of pineapple aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: medium to low carbonation, medium to full bodied.
Overall: very good IIPA. Better than BrewDog’s Hardcore IPA (and therefore better than I Hardcore You), but not the best IIPA from Mikkeller (best one I had so far was 1000 IBU). Really nice beer, worth reccomending.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
0,2l on tap @ Stone’s. Pours clear amber with a low head. Surprisingly weak aroma is malts and fruits. Flavor is malts, some fruits and plenty of hops. A bit boring. Decent nevertheless.

Draught@Stone's, Helsinki. Slightly cloudy amber color, lasting off-white head. Piny hop aroma. Full, surprisingly sweet flavor with a bitter, hoppy undercurrent. Piny and dry finish. Thick, oily mouthfeel. Full body, medium-low carbonation. Nice, good balance.
