Bottle, thanks for sharing emacgee. Very hazy, almost opaque orange with a some spit-like sudsy bubbles. Looks like under-carbonated homebrew. Smells is old hops, slightly buttery, malts. Flavor mimics aroma. Could have had some potential, fresh. I’ll probably never know.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy dark amber with a 1 finger, creamy, bright white head that has good retention. Aroma is citrus rind, toffee, caramel, a touch of pine and a strong, sweet floral note. Flavor is big on citrus, somewhere between rind and sweet flesh, baby pine sprigs, spicy floral notes, sweet caramel malt, sweet white bread dough, a touch of fresh marijuana and some definite alcohol warmth and sweetness to the finish. Palate is fairly heavy feeling with an entry that is both oily and syrupy, creamy in the middle and surprisingly crisp and off dry to the finish with just a touch of sweetness carrying through to keep the pucker factor down in the finish. Very nice palate. Really good IIPA overall.

Pours a nice clear amber with a huge white head that leave plenty of lacing as it recedes. Smells of big hops with a slight malty undertone. Tastes of big hops and malty sweetness. A slight bitterness in the aftertaste along with a big hop flavor. Overall a big hoppy delicious beer.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Barley Wine, Copenhagen. Poured a mid amber colour with a plump nicely lingering off-white head. Aroma was a big healthy dose of piney hoppy goodness mingling with some sweet malts and citrus. Great mouthfeel. Similar yarn to the nose in the flavour; with the sweet malts a nice foil to the in your face hoppage. Tidy bittersweet finish. Superb DIPA, well up there with the best of them.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Glowing orange body; medium sized beige head. Rich oily hop aroma. Thick body, yes quite American. Just enough sweetness to cut through the hops, right where I like it in a double IPA. Perfect carbonation levels. Very balanced, tasty, not tiring, and evokes many of my favorite (American) double IPA memories, 90 minute, Hopslam, Devil Dancer, etc.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Lots of foam on a golden body. Hoppy aromas, the taste come lots of hops, very pleasant if you like bitter, as it leans more there, and is well buffered by the malting. Very good drinkability. Fuller mouthfeel.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2/22/11. 11.2oz bottle. Cloudy light mud/clay brown pour with a thick, fluffy off-white head. Big malt blast on the aroma of caramel, butter, and more, with complex but somewhat subdued hop character including veggies, stew, citrus, and more. Similar somewhat salty and malty flavor that reminds me a bit of sour, hoppy stew with onions and a lingering bitter kick and some floral aspects. Hmm.

draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo, NY. hazy deep darker orange. citrusy hops, solid malt back bone fill the aroma & flavor. Big but not over doing it. Balanced. Big citrusy, agressive Mikkeller bitterness, great flavor, looking forward to more
