3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 bth122 (912) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Bottle. Omaha. Dark amber color. Medium head. Aroma is malt syrup heavy with some floral/citrus hop. Medium light bitterness. Again, taste is heavy emphasis on malt syrup-like. Caramel notes. Creamy texture. If you like a more malt heavy IPA this is for you. Still nice hop flavors are there.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 OKplus (558) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 29, 2013
11.2 oz. poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.
No date on bottle but my local shop just got this in today. Fresh off the truck. Thanks Freddy!
A - Hazy rust color with a light yellow head that forms an active cap. Below average lacing.
S - Dense yeasty esters. Mango is very powerful right up front, candied grapefruit, lychee, sweet orange, pineapple, cantaloupe melon, pine resin becomes more pronounced as it opens up. Thick toasted caramel malt is heavy underneath and adds to more sweetness.
T - The hops, malt, and yeast seem to all hit the palate at once. Hops follow the aroma and seem to stay on the edges of the malt. Tropical fruits up front and sides, some green pine on the back of the tongue. The rich caramel malt does not get pushed aside from the malt but adds very nice balance.
M - Full body, thick chewy feel, low carbonation. Finishes juicy, slick, and wet.
This beer lets the flavors of the hops shine more than the bitterness. Lots of juicy tropical fruit, sweet citrus, and some pine. Very juicy and wet.
A thick body and rich malt bill add lots of sweetness and seems like it almost needs a bit more bitterness to balance it out. But that is only nitpicking. This was a well rounded DIPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BOLTZ7555 (2423) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Murky burnt tangerine pour with a modest eggshell head. Orange peel, bitter grapefruit, and tart lemon. Moderate honey and evergreen...not bad but nothing to write home about.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 mikedR (410) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Cloudy copper pour. Definitely one of the better resiny DIPAs I’ve had. Malty and quite sweet. Resiny in flavor (with some pine notes), but perfectly in balance (resin seems to have a way of becoming overpowering; see, e.g., El Toro). Super enjoyable and drinkable, with a nice syrupy mouthfeel courtesy of the resin I suppose. Hop heads will be disappointed though. Hides its ABV (9.75?!?) amazingly well. Buy it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Christopsy (20) - SCOTLAND - MAY 5, 2013
Zesty, floral, HOPPY, a big IPA that could have never been made by just 1 brewery. Mikkeller and BrewDog have gone the mile on this one...
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ed5388 (628) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - APR 21, 2013
11.5oz bottle. Pours a murky burnt orange with very little off white head. Aroma of sweet malt, citrus, and pine. Taste is just like the nose. Citrus, pine, and lots of sweet malt.

March 2012. From bottle. Pours deep amber color with a large white head. aromas of pine, citrus and resins. Good balance and a nice hoppy finish.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 maxwelldeux (2368) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - APR 4, 2013
Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a reddish tinge to it and a small head. Nose is definitely hoppy and bitter with some subtle floral elements to it. Taste is only slightly bitter, but the malts balance it out reasonably. OK.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 HopRedHead (151) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 1, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a thick, dark burnt orange. Brilliant, pungent peachy hop aroma with a huge raw honey malt sweetness. The nose is huge. So is the flavour. Delivers the same raw honey sweetness (also a touch of butterscotch) with exotic fruit (tangy peach) taste. Thick body and balanced bitterness. Be right back, getting another one.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 conway (606) - - MAR 18, 2013
Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Good IPA but a little forgettable. Do recall a nice malt backbone and some cattiness from the Simcoe.
