Bottle in Mesa. Pours a hazy yellow orange appearance with an off white head. Quite funky, spicy bretty, pineapple, big citrusy aroma. Refreshing zesty spicy yeasty, barnyard, a bit chewy, delicious mango, orange citrusy flavor. Fun stuff to drink.

First taste was tart, juicy lemon with a hint of apricot, a touch of malty sweetness, and substantial brett funk. As the beer warmed, the brett mellowed and melded more into a backbone of sweet grains and fruit flavors: peach, mango, more lemon, tangerine, and grapefruit. I took about an hour to sip my tulip, and the more the beer developed, the more I liked it. I felt this was a nearly perfect blend of sweet/funky/bitter.

750ml bottle. Batch #2, bottled Nov/2012. Mostly clear slightly pale yellow color. Big foamy 2-finger thick white head. Leaves little bubbly lace. Medium to bigger body. Awesome soft, lighter bright carbonation.. Classic Anchorage texture. Awesome citrus (orange, some light lime) flavors, very zesty. Some spruce. Great mildly funky, estery aftertaste. Nice zesty sweet, light bitter in the finish. Nice, subtle tartness. Pretty tasty, unusual IPA.

Scopey (8397) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2013
Bottle from Thistle News, Aberdeen. Slow gusher! It pours hazy deep orange with a massive off-white head. The nose is tangy orange, wood, very fruity, varnish, spice, sherbet and Granny Smith apple. The taste is zesty orange, pithy, brett, earth, wood, tangy marmalade, nice bitterness, hint of banana, varnish and Irn Bru with a tangy, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Really nice depth of flavour. Tasty, interesting and well-balanced.

Bov (10204) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAR 14, 2013
from Erzbierschof - quite clear golden-orange beer with a long lasting beige foam; sourish aroma of apples, hay and mango; a solid malt backbone, an initial sweetness followed by a fair sourness ; fairly carbonated; pretty dry aftertaste of hay, sour fruits and yeast

CO² explosion on opening, resulting in a glass of yellow foam on fully hazy orange-amber beer: shards of lace. Very fresh-smelling hops & Brett mix, spicy, sharp, citrus & solvent - treatening to turn astringent. Sharpish-bitterish, very hoppy flavour with complex barnyard, citrussy and spicy-estery flavours, mainly the Brett working. Very dry finish, if short of astringency. Bit soapy, all the same. Light dry-out effect, light to medium bodied, very carbonated. Quite nice, but not the kind of beer yould start on, wanting to finish 66cl...

Jur (447) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 9, 2013
Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Lovely earthy nose, with light sourness. Pours violently (Bretts grabbing freedom!) hazy yellow and red copper coloured. Foam is thick and white, with the bubbles audibly popping. Taste is yeasty, light sour and bitter finish. Not for the faint hearted, but if you are into bitter and sour tastes this is your pick.

Light Belgian spice with soft citrus peel aromas. Gorgeous light straw color with a thin white head. Flavors are subtle hops with very nuanced witbier spicing and some light brett funk. Very refreshing overall.

Pours a mildly hazy light gold/straw color with an insane amount of frothy off white foam. Exceptionally low srm for an ipa. Aromas are very prominent in foam as it dissipates and then becomes much more subdued. Aroma is a little dank and musty with some pine, citrus and mango. Taste is unique. The dankness in the aroma actually is very prominent in the taste, which is different. Also has a nice citrus hop character with pine and touches of mango. Finish is medium dry with a mild bitterness.

After loosening the cage the cork flew out the top of the bottle, and a beer geyser seriously shot up to my ceiling... I’m not kidding, I just finished cleaning my floor, ceiling, ceiling fan, desk, and bathtub. Big ups to MIkkeller & Anchorage for that little bit of excitement... I also want to give a shout-out to my homie Brettanomyces for that little stunt.

Pours a very hazy golden, almost orange, with an impossibly huge, fluffy, very loose off white head.

The aroma on this is totally awesome, it’s got tons of fruit character... pineapple, mango, & citrus. Lots of leafy fresh hop character, lots of funky earthy character. Pungent and inviting.

The flavor is very dry & very hoppy. The flavors are largely fruit forward, lots of pineapple, lots of citrus, lots of fruit rind. The bitterness level is very satisfying, but not over the top. This thing is pretty well balanced but all over the place as well, plenty of peppery character, plenty of fresh hoppiness, tons of that fruit forward flavorer with practically no sweetness.

The carbonation is prickly and champagne like, and the dry finish is just spot on.

I’m a total sucker for beers like this, even if opening the bottles is messy.
