22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma is medium hop heavy, with piney and resinous hops apparent, along with some subtle spicy hops. Flavour of resinous hops with a subtle spic, and just enough malt backing. Finishes dry and bitter. Nothing special here - strange for Mikkeller - but well-made nonetheless.

Strong bitter flavor. Mouthfeel is very dry and caustic. Flavor is great, sweet scotch like malt followed by lots of earthy hops. Color is dark Amber and fully translucent.

Tasted on 4/9/12 from a growler purchased at Winoís. Pours a dark auburn orange with an average white head that slowly recedes to thin lace. The nose is a nice blend of brown sugar malt, a hint of mik chocolate malt, and pleasant resin and citrus peel hops. The flavor is extremely dry and more intensely bitter than I expected from the palate, with the resin and citrus peel hops dominating. The brown sugar and milk chocolate malt act as a backbone, with just a hint of toasted walnut as well. The body is medium with just lighter than average carbonation and a long resin bitter and lightly nutty finish.

Bottle. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Nose/taste of pineapple, citrus, caramel malt and dry pine. Inconsistent - sometimes its in the nose - sometimes itís not. Finishes very dry with pine. Medium body.

Pours hazy gold into a Sam glass. White head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Mild resin aromas. Dry with sour biscuit upfront turning to grapefruit in the lasting finish.

22oz bottle, shared with friends. Nice, off-white foamy and persisting head. Mostly hazy amber color. Good, dry texture. Good lace. Lighgter carbonation. Very nice, big fruity tropical hop aromas. Good bitter taste, light sweet. Significant malt, but itís balanced out by the big fruity hops. Very tasty IPA, enough flavor for to pass as a DIPA. Friends liked this a lot.

On tap. Against The Grain version. Pours an almost clear deep, dark amber with an off-white head. Intense but also somewhat greasy and herbal hop aroma. Medium-bodied, lightly sweet fruit and caramel before distinct citrusy hops leaving a bitter finish. Straight, thereís nothing wrong with it but itís simply not all that thrilling. A very nice brew of course. I prefer the Stateside IPA to this. There are subtle difference between the two. This one it a tad less matly.

Sampled on 3/9/2012. This Imperial IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, orange, citrus and piney hops. A medium to full bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. The hops are citrusy and piney with a touch of grapefruit. A medium bitter double IPA. Decent carbonation A nice hoppy IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Shared over at James place. Definitely over aged even though I just recently purchased it. Clear golden pour with massive near white head. Good bitterness, but not much else. Lingering thin oily bitterness on palate. Meh.
