2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 CaraCurtis (98) - USA - JAN 8, 2013
Wet, a little funky, slight sour smell, maybe a little light leathery apricot/pear. Light pear color and transparent, slight foamy , white head, a little bubbly, head pours a little thicker, dissipates, but still holds. The tastes is a little mediciny, some bitter note on the back end of the palate, maybe a little upfront lingering on the tongue and a bit on the roof, carbonation is present. Overall, the aroma I enjoyed, the appearance is pretty, the taste is unexpected, definitely still enjoy any of the Mikkeller beers as they are fun to experience, but not one I would go after again, not a lot to it in the overall sense.

Bottle (330ml from Vino Wines, Edinburgh):
Strong yeast to start with some good fruity aromas following this with a slightly sour smell coming through and a little lemon. Not a whole lot going on with this one in the smell department but it’s not particularly bad either.
Golden amber colour that has orange tinges and is topped with a very foamy looking, white head that is about two centimetres tall and holds very well.
Again yeast upfront with a fruity taste of mainly apples and pears following this, there is also a semi-sour flavouring in there towards the end. Not a taste that I enjoyed and definitely not one of the better Mikkeller beers out there.
Very lively carbonation, definitely high and with a citrus tang hitting you straight away. The beer is quite a dry one, too dry in fact and the body is light medium.
This one looked really good when I poured it and the smell, although not the best wasn’t a particularly bad one but upon trying the beer I quickly discovered it was the worst Mikkeller beer I’ve tried to date, it just didn’t really have anything going for it in the way of depth or good taste.

At a tasting, thanks troubles, hazy light orange colour, aroma of peach and date wiht some vinegar, flavour of sheep’s milk, soapy floweriness and some wood, strong and a bit tannic bitterness. Funky and quite enjoyable.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 brugmanneke (222) - GERMANY - DEC 3, 2012
(33 cl bottle) Pours a golden color, hazy, with an off-white head. Aroma is a little herbal, a little soapy, and partly reminds me of Orval’s brettanomyces-spiciness. Taste is bitter, the kind of flat bitterness that reminds me of belgian endives. Carbonation is soft, dry mouthfeel. A little too smooth.

Bottle at Craft back in April. Pale blond colour, slightly cloudy. Aroma is lemon, bret. Taste is very nice, some sourness, some weird grain. Quite subtle. Think I must have had a few by the time I rated this.

with 77 ships, delirium hoppy loft
looks like a lager ( colour, foam,..) taste has definetly got hints of that, more bitterr, more , much more taste than a lager. i’d say, make this the standard for lagers from now on, and i’m in !
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 alobar (2300) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 3, 2012
Pours and orange color with a white head that vanishes quickly. Aroma of funk, hops, and some citrus. Pretty empty taste with some citrus, a bit of funk, and hops. Decent, but not what I expect from Mikkeller.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Maris (752) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - AUG 17, 2012
From a 330ml bottle on 17/8/2012. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a small to medium head and lots of yeast floating around. Has a truly funky, huge yeasty aroma featuring fermenting fruit. The flavour follows suit, though perhaps slightly more subdued, with lots of yeast, sour green apples, and a touch of vinegar. Has heaps of flavour and aroma for something that’s only 4.5%, but the problem is that it’s not all that pleasant. I’m generally a huge fan of Mikkeller beers but this is one that doesn’t blow me away.
