3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy golden pour with some nice floaties. Nice sour aroma. Flavor is decent too, but the finish is a little too malty for this beer to be truly refreshing. Reminds me a bit of a mediocre berliner weisse. Not a bad beer though.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes goldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, malzig süß, leicht würzig. Geschmack leicht hefig, fruchtig malzig, Gewürze, blumig.

Out of the bottle. Poured a golden straw color, which you could easily see thru. smells of citrusy peach funk. Drinks with a strong brett flavor, not much other sour going on. I would call it a session brett ale. its alright!

Tap. Hazy yellow with a medium sized bubbly white head. Aroma is barnyard, leather, yellow apples, light red berries. Taste is light/medium sweet and bitter. Light/medium body, oily/watery texture, medium carbonation. Light dry fruity and bretty finish. Refreshing.

I’m generally not a fan of belgian ales but I am of IPAs and there was enough hops in here to get my interest. Maybe it is an experiment alright. I have to say I have never tasted quite so much peaty smokiness in a beer. It’s like drinking Laphraoig. For that, I love it. Besides that it has the yeasty bitterness of belgian beers that tends to lose me.

1.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
330 ml bottle bought at Craftissimo in Tsim Sha Tsui East.
Cloudy hazy golden honey colour with dirt-like yeast sediments; One and half finger head with beautiful, crumpety white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with notable small carbonation; Quite fragrant sweet and tart aroma of ale malt, with sour cherry, grapefruit, grapes, funk, Bel yeast, sugar, vanilla, herbs and light grass; Close to medium sweet taste of thin ale malt, with flashes of strong tartness, light molasses, notes of cherry, light biscuits, club soda, light earth, liquorices and bitter hops; Mid to light body, watery palate; Mouth feel: just about every taste is so really thin in this watery brew. From ale malt, cherry tartness, sweetness and yeast, all tastes are just touch in soda background, really going nowhere. Brett funk and earthy hops are otherwise positives but not helping much. Sigh… Hoppiness is herbal light grass nose, sharp liquorices and flashy bitter hops. Mid to low bitter finish. Fairly dry after taste, watery and fairly bitter to mouth.
Comments: This is one of those Mikkeller experiments that goes nowhere - beyond the decent aroma, the body is soda water and taste is near total void, and weird bitterness - it’s like standing in the middle of a football stadium all alone. Nevermind its failure as Belgian Ale, this brew is simply pointless and meaningless. Avoid!

A: Pours a light brass ale with superb clarity. Poor 1/2 finger washy white head production which is transient, but the carbonation from the bottom makes a centralized cap which it absolute.
S: Farm funk, grainy sourness, very gueuze-like in the nose. But a cheap gueuze, nothing too refined. Hints of cola, hay, lemon zest, orange juice, fairly complex and appreciable.
T: Wow, this is shit! I struggle to find any of the pleasantries provided by the nose. Tastes like the smell of a wet diaper. Poorly matured beer. Wow, I’m gonna have a hard time with this. Almost like soda water, with flavors of infection (in a bad way). Okay, some light bitterness appreciated at the end.
M: Light, spritely carbonation. Leaves the mouth wishing I had something to eat that was less offensive - see: shit.
D: I just poured this beer down the drain. Mikkeller should be embarrassed to release this beer. Might as well bottle alka-seltzer.

Slightly sour ale, light orange/ amber with spare (very spare) head. Faint grain/wheat aroma with some citrus. Taste is also light malt, oranges. This would be great for a cheese tasting. Light and refreshing, subtle, slightly dry, but very enjoyable.
