Cirrhosis (1192) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 18, 2013
Most annoying waiter on the planet dropped off a mildly hazy taney orange beer in front of me. Aroma hits both sweet and sour, with big brett and obvious white wine, I can trick myself into smelling the mango. Mild funk and oak hit the taste, tropical fruit that but I could never really nail down the mango, brett, the chardonnay is obvious and really dries out the flavor. Dry and crisp, easy to drink, more funky then sour, fruit (every time I type fruit I think of Sean DoveÖÖ.. Donít know why) OAK!!!! Good beer the end.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar SF soft opening. Phenols, brett, slight sweet fruitiness, honey, malt, yeasty. Bottom line: too much bandaid, not enough mango, not enough sour.

A - pours golden peach with low head and some spotty lacing. S - unfortunate aromas of bandaids lead the nose. Earthy rubbery bretts. once this settles for a while the Chardonnay and lightly sour white grapes, note of fruit esters, piney mango and a musty funk. M - high carb, lightly sweet with a med full palate. light medium body. lingering dry hoppy end. T - unfortunate overpowering bandaids. over bretted. Next come the sweet fruity esters, almost undefinable. last is the musty funk, mineral water and astringent. Dank hops. O - simple lightly sweet bandaids 3.7

Tap take over at the underground! Pours a clear orangey/amber with a small sticky white head leaving tons of lace all the way up the glass. Aroma consists of possibly brett, chardonnay barrel, and mango but more vaguely tropical fruity if I hadnít known there was mango. And taste, itís lightly sour, funky oak, fruity, mango, a dry finish like a chardonnay, and a lingering bitterness/funkiness.

Pours a hazy amber with a big frothy white head that eaves tons of lace. Aroma of sweet mangos, sour funk, grassI and tropical fruits. Taste is sweet tropical fruits, mango, chardonnay tones and wood. Finishes with a smooth sourness and dry giving it more of a wine feel with the addition of brett.

maneliquor (2995) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 29, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours hazy amber with a small, extremely sticky white head leaving incredible lacing. Nose shows light funk, tropical juice, grass and pineapple. Not as funky as I was expecting. Was also expecting more acidity from the Chardonnay casks. Very tropical and juicy. Pineapple and mango are right there. Becomes a little more funky with warmth and air. Opens up a little. A very solid all round beer but nothing amazing

Pours deep gold into a tulip. White head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Sour mango and oak aromas. Soft with Chardonnay and oak upfront turning to mango pith in the lasting finish.

Draught, 9%. Good bretty aroma. Hazy red amber colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is acetic at first, then turns papery and fruity with a good earthy, horsey aftertaste. After a while it is mostly the acetic flavour, which is good. Does not taste 9% at all.

375mL bottle, pours an opaque dark orange with a medium off-white head. Nose brings out loads of Chardonnay barrels upfront, followed by funk, an subdued mangos. Flavour brings out chardonnay and considerable funk upfront, with a little horse blanket that finishes along with the brett. The mangos arenít really anywhere to be detected. If I didnít know they were in here, I wouldíve have noticed it at all. Nevertheless, this is a great funky vinous beer.
