This version of the Itís Alive has the mango to give it that sweet fruity tropical fruit taste, while the Chardonnay barrel aging gives it a vineous character. Brett gives the tartness. Complex beer Ė it is very much alive!

@Cerveteca Lisboa, 13th August 14; already most complex in its aromas, beautifully ranging from dry cidre, woody, oaky notes to some hints of white wine and even a whiff of very fresh Brie and some really very subtle hint of Mango. Tastewise, its a lot less sour than expected from sniffing but an absolotely fine tartness with woody notes, a lot like Champagne and a very subtle hint of Mango.

Sampled draft @ Borefts 2013. Clear amber with a small off-white head. Nose is Chardonnay, brett, faint mango, nice big brett profile, noble rot bacteria aka getting some carrots, very funky, nice. Taste is mango, noble rot bacteria aka carrots reminding me of Funky (e) Star, getting some light bretty mango but this is more carrot than mango in a good & very enjoyable way, candy sugar, touch bitter herbs, caramel, funky, grass,Ö Big thinned, lots of brett body. Lovely beer which reminds me of Orval, the cost on one bottle is equal to 24 bottles of Orval in BelgiumÖ Loved this brew.

Bottle. Clear orangish red with a thin fluffy off white head. Big horse blanket, barn yard funk, caramel, and sour citrus aroma. Very bright and lively yet soft palate. Tastes of caramel, green apple, mango, sour cherry, white wine and oak with a sharp dry finish.

09-FEB-2013, bottle @home, from ōlbutikken. Clear golden to dark/amber with huge, lasting, lacing, and very creamy off-white head. Aroma is white wine, oak, fruit, and funk. Taste is the same. Slightly tart. Dry with medium body and soft carbonation. White wine barrel is evident. Mango...? Not so sure. It IS fruity, but the funky stuff clouds it somewhat. Very enjoyable drink:-)

@Borefts. A nice wedding of a sour ale with a fruity white wine. Rich taste, with a delicious smoothness thanks to the aging.

On draft at Borefts 2013. Beautiful Itís Alive aroma, additional fruitiness. Flavor of brett, fruit, not sticky. Wonderful, just wonderful.

Rating #827 - December 13, 2013 - On tap at Beer Revolution. Clear golden pour with a sticky white foam that bubbles away fairly quick. Wondrous aromas of oaky chardonnay, mango, peach, lavender. Palate is sticky tropical fruit punch sweetness, and the sourness comes in with some glorious oaky dryness. Phenomenal sour ale.

375ml bottle: pours like a brand new penny. Fluffy white head that is shot lived. Subtle yet complex aroma with notes of apple, pear, grapes, and straw with hints of vanilla, mango and pineapple. Less funky than I was expecting. I was expecting something really tart and sour. The funkiness and sourness are subdued but very much in balance with the malty, fruit flavors presence. Very balanced and drinkable beer!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
