3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12.7 ounce bottle. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a hazy orange amber color with an inch and a half off-white head that sticks around for a long time. Thereís also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice but light, it smells like oranges/orange peel, vanilla, oak and some pears. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but thereís also the addition of some bready malt and some earthiness. Thereís more bitterness to this brew than I expected. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a bit creamy with a good amount of carbonation. I think this is a decent brew, but I donít think itís worth the $16.99 price tag at all. Still, it was nice to try once.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
375ml bottle from Malloyís (Lisle, IL). Popped over when I saw these finally crop up on BeerMenus. Side-by-side with the Chardonnay and Mango version. Pours a nice darker amber hue, orange glow is striking, darker with just a faint kiss of haze that settles out. Darker than the Mango version. A frothy offwhite head is a bit bigger, almost cakey compared to the previous. Better stick around, decent lacing. Aromas show more of a sweetness, biscuity and bready, some distinct orange peel and marmalade, oak and vanilla. Gentle estery fruit shows apple, more orange, sweeter citrus slant. Mellow funk and tartness, but this is pretty sweet, barrel driven. Initial is a bit more fruity, medium bodied with biscuits and bready doughy malts, some apple, pear and melon meet mandarin oranges, honeycrisp fruit, gentle honey sweetnes. Distinct Grand Marnier presence is sweeter, oaky, with some gentle tartness as we hit the middle. Gentle funk, spice as we keep moving on. A bit too sweet for me on the whole, with a bit more funkiness, tartness growing as we turn the corner. Subtle leather, basement, and more oak keep pressing on. This seems even less sour than the Mango version. Finish is dry, a bit bretty, firm oak and gentle earthy spiciness. Meh. These two newer releases were a bit of a let down.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
375mL thanks to MrChopin. Pours a clear tea amber with weaker foam and wispy lacing. Nose is skunky, sharp lemongrass. Could be the green bottle. Eventually the aroma picks up some orange rind, mango, and sugar. Taste is bitter, hoppy, nice grapefruit and citrus peel. Palate is Brett IPA style with big hoppiness, dry mineral water, grass. Interesting.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: Bottle shared at jcosís, 10/3/13
Aroma: The aroma is straw, lemon, a little funk, and some and the liquor
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear orange color with a fizzy head on top, and minimal lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same, with funk, yeast, spice, and some liquor
Palate: The body is medium, it has a fairly fizzy palate, and a somewhat dry finish
I found this one to be more interesting than enjoyable. I actually thought the liquor (which I would not have been able to guess was Grand Marnier without knowing) was a cool experiment.
