COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: En vild belgisk ale brygget på: vand, malt (pale og cara), lys kandis, humle (hallertau og styrian golding), gær og brettanomyces. Lagret 7 måneder på hvidvinsfade.

English: It’s Alive!!! Indeed it is. This Belgian Ale has been aged on White Wine barrels to give it that touch of alcohol, while the Brettanomyces give the tartness. Complex but well balanced beer.

Bottle. Hazy golden pour with head. Light white wine, some sour aromas and a touch of off tone. Why does this have smoke flavors, otherwise light tart and Belgian tones.

Bottle at barrel aged tasting at Appellation Wines Comely Bank. I enjoyed the intermingling of sour, bitter and also sweetness in parts. The sweetness was a barrel thing - mainly toffee and perhaps vanilla a little. But this was washed away by the bitterness but mainly the sourness. Great palate.

Murky amber, greasy brown envelope. Funky grapefruit, grassy and speckles of tangerine. Initial taste is lean gummy bitter, droplets of sherry clementine and clean grapefruit. Fairly fizzy and fairly brisk mouthfeel. Lean seabuckthorny bitter (I guess), linger is soured chalk.Pale golden, sultry filmy and off white head. Peppery creamy chalky nose. Initial taste is lean crisp juicy lychee and white grapefruit, very crisp and creamy. Lean acidic but ABV is completely bypassed. Not juicy or too chalky dry, finishes lean crisp spicy grapefruit and a dry dusty linger. Bottle, Cheers Paul.

Nice anber colored beer with a fair amount of off-white head. Nice looking beer. A sweet aroma that makes me think of an old wooden ship. I dont find the taste as sour as I had exoected of a lambic style beer and had actually hoped for some more. It has some sourness but also a lot of sweetness and a little saltiness. The best thing about the taste I think, is the woody taste of the whine barrels. I am a little disapointed since I had quite some expectations to what I thought was a Mikkeller classic, and I really loved the recent lambic Hues also by Mikkeller. I must admit that a had a little cold at the time of tasting though, so maybe some aroma has past me by, and I might not have gotten 100 procent of the potential experience.

czar (6520) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 21, 2015
pours unclear yet bright medium dark golden with a creamy off-white head offering good retention and lacing. intense leathery and peppery bretts, borderline rotten fruits - berries, toasted spicy wheat, chocolate brettiness, rhubarb, coffee grinds, spices - miscellaneous although dill seeps through. bright carbonation, light body, dry bretty-woody-very astringent finish. more complex and less off (as per caramel and slightly rotten fruitiness) than chardonnay/mango edition. tasty and dry enough to make it enjoyable.

Bottle. Copper/amber pour, off-white head. Little retention/some lace. Aroma of dust, wine, barrel, funk. Palate is sweet, oak, lightly bitter, brett. Palate is dry, slick, lightly bitter finish. A bit muddled, like drinking old wine.... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
