On tap at mikkeller bar. Clear amber, no head. Sour apples, wheat and a little barn in the nose. Sweetness and good balance, but not as crazy as expected.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours deep amber into a snifter. White head with medium retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Summer fruit, brett and white grape aromas. Sweet caramel and marshmallow upfront turning to mildly tart summer fruit before the lasting band-aid finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle, many thanks to kappldav123! Yes, it is alive, alive all over my kitchen. Managed to save most of it in my glass where it appears with a hazy brown colour and a huge, impressive off-white head, very foamy and very persistent. Lovely aroma of dark malts with a touch of fruit. Yeasty and malty with just the right sweetness, fruity sour hints are also present, as well as aromatic hops in the background. Lively and very delicious!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
from Erzbierschof - quite clear ruby-brown beer under a solid beige foam left; aroma of candi sugar, raisins and cinnamon; gently woody, a good malt backbone; some sweetness and a decent acidity; quite lot of residual sweetness in a long finish of wood and raisins

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep amber-red, not clear, thin white head of very small bubbles; aroma is a sour yeastiness couple with lots of fruit - cherries and oranges; tastes sour too, but not in the usual way - the sourness was right up a the front of the mouth, behind the teeth - odd; there’s also fruitiness and white wine is a constant undercurrent; a spritzy dryness; strange, enjoyable, enjoyably strange - an acquired taste that I was in the process of acquiring when the bottle finished, with my score on an upward trajectory from a starting point of 3.3. Who knows where a second bottle would have taken it?

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A steady pour into my Bruery tulip produces a fat-two-finger thick, pale tan tinged head. The beer is a dark amber color that shows a lightly hazed, gold tinged, bright amber hue when held up to the light. The nose does indeed smell a bit like an oaky white wine note too it. Towards the end it picks up a berry like note that makes this lean towards a fruity Red Wine. Musty, phenolic, Brettanomyces notes, mix with some straw like notes, a light herbal note, and some light, toasty, crystal malt notes, and perhaps a light nutty.
Effervescent, and lightly tart up front, with a bit of a woody bite in the finish. Fruity notes of melons, a touch of apple, perhaps a touch of citrus are offset by the slightly astringent, spicy, woody oak character. The oak provides a toasted note that accentuates a light, whole grain cracker note, as well as a soft, pale malt chewy bread note and some dried hay like notes. The body is nice and light, but has enough viscosity to keep it from being watery. Hints of the phenolics here lean towards plastic, but mostly it is just musty, and a bit musky.
This is pretty nice, the oak is a little too dominant, but in actuality it works quite well.
