On tap at Biero. Great beer, cidery aroma, but sweet in the mouth. Aroma of apples, dough, and caramel. Taste is sweet, with only a hint of sourness, and long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Orange, with a creamy head.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (750 ml). Traded by Mathieuc, thanks Mathieu! Amber with a huge and thick off-white head and intense lacing. Aroma is of hops, tropical fruits and brettanomyces with a slight white wine presence. Taste is moderately sweet and malty with sligth brettanomyces, tropical fruits and white wine notes. Mouthfeel is moderately dry. I had higher expectations from this beer, but it’s still quite good. I’m under the impression that this bottle is a little too old for the hops to be really present and a little too young for the brettanomyces to take most of the place.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy/murky golden with an off-white head. Aroma is tart with sweet fruit notes. The two notes feels like they sort of clash together, but it works well somehow. Brett as well. Flavour is sweetish and slightly tart (a la berries). Brett. Bitter finish. A bit too much carbonation. Overall well-balanced and nice. 10.03.11.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Reddish orange pour. Big off-white head that leaves plenty of lacing as it slowly dies down. A slightly soured orange and cherry aroma. Some blackberries. Funk, but slight. Very soft sweet and fruity flavor. A slight tannin presence. Thin, but sweet and refreshing. Not too bad, but I don’t think I would call it a sour. More of a blonde beer with some color and a slight Brett presence.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance: hazy straw. White head fades to a thin and decent collar marked by scattered bubbles. Swirls thick along the edges but nothing in the middle.
Nose: whoa; reaches out to me from the glass to where I am sitting. Sour and funked, but differently than a Lambic. Leather, saddlebags, dry husked straw and sour lemon drops. White grapefruit pith. Must and an overall essence of standing in an old and worn barn. Granny smith apples.
Palate: very light in the body and mouthfeel; super clean with little to no attenuation or residual sugars. Softest up front. Long dry hay stalk finish. Sour lemon drops and lemon ice, all natural no sugars added. Musty and musky in the middle into the back; leather and barnyard. Granny smith apples meet the juicer for a thin crisp tartness which nibbles along the sides of my mouth. Flavors mingle well together.
Final Thoughts: Mikkeller could very well end up being one of the great brewing geniuses of our time. He brews a lot and everywhere and manages to do it well each and every time. A living classic.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2013 Bottle shared thanks to thebsmitty! Pours a medium golden brown with dissipating off-white head. Aroma is oak barrel sweetness, musky grapes, hint of bret. Taste follows, yeast and sweet musty grapes with a hint of booze. Smoother than the other I tried, tannic awesomeness.

Fra flaske på Mikkellertreffet på Cardinal: Uklar ravfarge. Masse skum. Mye brettanomyces, syrlige frukter og krydder. Iflg Mikkeller selv "urversjonen" av It’s Alight! Brygget hos deProeuf med Orvalgjær og brett. 100% spontangjæret, men har ikke så aggresiv syrlighet som en lambic. Ikke sikker på om jeg liker dette, må prøves igjen.
