Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

Itís Alive! is Mikkellers answer and tribute to the trappist beer Orval. Itís Alive is an easy-to-drink beer, with a lot of hops. The color is amber, the foam is high, white and dense. The potent Brettanomyces culture makes Itís Alive continue to develop in the bottle.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale and cara), light candy, hops (hallertauer and styrian goldings), yeast and brettanomyces.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours hazy amber with large cream head. Fruitier than I expected with some hedgerow berries gatecrashing the party. Lovely complex brett with smooth floral yeast. Decided to age a bottle of this to see how it develops.

Bottle picked up in the Mikkeller beer shop. Slightly cloudy copper, frothy lasting white head. Yeast notes in the aroma, loads of spice too, amber malt. Peppery spice flavour, dries out toward the finish. Light body for the big abv. Fizzy and zesty. Really excellent.

Aromat: kiszonka, porzeczki, wiśnie, karmel, do tego nuty stajenne. Świetny. Smak: dość słodkie z kwaśnym owocowym posmakiem, jest sporo owocůw, szlachetny alkohol i goryczka jakby z sera pleśniowego (!). Na podniebieniu pozostaje drożdżowo-kwaśny posmak. Mistrzowskie piwo.

Pour out of bottle, thanks Aaron! Hazy golden pour with fluffy white head, aroma brought notes of biscuit, bread, sweet sugary notes into white fruit, lots of yeasty, doughy notes into a bit of funk, slight tropical fruit. Taste was a mix of white fruit, peach, some herbal notes into a bit of slight vanilla, touch of funky note into a slight tropical fruit, finishing dry, slightly doughy.

Tasted on 11/12/11 on draft at the Three Floyds Anniversary party. Pours clear burnt orange with an average beige head that leaves a thin collar of lace. The nose is fairly nondescript with some bread malt and a hint of funky, earthy yeast. The flavor is more funky with some bread malt and light bitterness. The body is light with average carbonation and a long funky barnyard finish.

Bottle. Pours light hazy brown orange with a medium white head. Aromas of orange, light citrus, peach, lots of floral notes, some yeast. Taste is pretty hoppy and spicy up front, light citrus, peach, orange, yeast, very dry.

750ml bottle with expiry of 31/7/18. An amber beer with a medium sized stable white head and decent lace. Nose offers light Brett, straw, candied sugar, pale malts and blood oranges. Palate is deliciously refined and smooth with light bitter and sour flavours and a hay-like dry hop finish that refreshes. It is dangerously drinkable given the ABV. I would imagine that this gets even better with cellaring (as does Orval).
