4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Draught at Ørsted. Bright orange/coppercoloured. Thin white head, that disappeares rather quickly.
The aroma hits you with hops and a boatload of citrus (mostly limes and grapefruit). Brett aromas of moist wood and some horsy aromas too.
On the palate it is razorsharp! All of the above mentioned elements are there in the taste plus a hint of sage and just a touch of rosemary. Modest bitterness mingles with firm sourness in a very dry and refreshing finale, that just goes on and on. I could still taste it as I went home 30 minutes after drinking the last sip.
If there is one thing that should be considered in developing the recipe for future brews, it would be that the alcoholcontent of 8% by vol. doesn’t really add anything to the beer in terms of volume or complexity. I feel that the beer would probably be just as good at around 6% alcohol, but who knows?
But once again, I’ve found a new current favourite beer, and once again it’s from Mikkeller.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
750 ml bottle at home - September 2009 vintage. Pours golden with no head (no carbo eiither). Quiet unpleasant nose of pine and grass. There is a dustry undertone that makes this beer weird. Light body with a dry palate, taste is piny with a spicy finish. This is nothing close to Orval at all. Misser.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Nja...

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
@ Mikkeller and Friends. Aromen är betydligt bättre än smaken. Dock en bra balans i kroppen.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Visual: Cool name, it makes you think of the yeast and bretts used to make this beer. Mikkeller has never let me down, and I highly doubt it would start to do so tonight. Pours medium-light brown with a MASSIVE ultra-CREAMY head, very sticky lacing, lots of foamy retention, and a plethora of activity = all top notch.
Nose: (First have to sip off all that foam to get to the meat... ) Partial red fruity caramel sweetness (almost strawberries) and cereal, rather muted in comparison to the visual. (3/10-aromatic strength).
Attack: incoming sweet and sourness, ultra-creamy/light fizzy mouthfeel
Mid-palate: (MAIN) sweet(8/10) caramel malts, cane sugar, grapefruit (HINTS) chamomile
Finish: light burpy, yeasty, soft/gentle grapefruit hopped bitter end.
Summary: Superb visual and excellent clean flavour. Excellent drinkability and balance. It would need a bit more depth to make it in the A, A+ range, but still highly recommended.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Une couleur ambrée magnifique, une mousse qui tient bien et toute belle.
Une bière houblonnée tout comme il faut et qui libère une explosion en bouche avec des touche caramélisée. Franchement un must
