Itís Alive! is Mikkellers answer and tribute to the trappist beer Orval. Itís Alive is an easy-to-drink beer, with a lot of hops. The color is amber, the foam is high, white and dense. The potent Brettanomyces culture makes Itís Alive continue to develop in the bottle.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale and cara), light candy, hops (hallertauer and styrian goldings), yeast and brettanomyces.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; pours a hazy amber with pillowy white head, spicy fruity aroma, sour bite at the back the throat on first taste, this subdued as it warmed to a pleasant sourness with cinnamon and a dry bitterness.

Mikkeller itís alive 8% Bottle at Yamaoka. A rich bready marshmallow with some boozey heat & funk. A lovely Amber brown pour with a dense beige long-lasting head in my tulip glass. Nice flavor of chocolate buns, yeasty stone fruit & light spice. Very enjoyable.

Just a hint of the Brett influence, which is enough to deflect from the normal Belgian ale sweetness .

Bottle. Clear orange with fluffy white head. Aroma of malt and caramel, biscuit, candi sugar and brett funk. Taste of biscuit, pesch, herbs and low level of funk. Low bodied, with dry and medium bitter finish. In the finish some alcohol shows up, but it is not unpleasant. In overall nice interpretation of the legend.

On tap, Le äenk. Clear orange/amber colour with quickly falling white head. Aroma gingerbread, cinnamon, clove, Brett almost not, what quite dissapointed me. Taste similar. Quite dry, some alcohol. For me a bit bitter for that style. I expected a lot more.

0.75 l bottle. Amber, cloudy appearance with nice thick cap. Taste refeeshing, but at the same time a bit watered down like.

Tap@UkkoMetso, Tampere, Finland. Light aroma with sweet notes of caramel, bit sour berries and some honey. Deep orange color with minimal natural white head. Minimally hazy liquid. Medium taste with honey, bit bitter berries and hint of malts. Medium/narrow taste spectrum and medium aftertaste with sweet hops and berries. Averagely balanced. Light/medium body with medium carbonation. Overall fresh and sturdy but not enough for this style. Especially the body is too light.

Tap @ ōlhus Stockholm, Helsinki. The aroma is fairly mild. Some caramel, some light bretta-aroma. Taste is caramel, dried fruit, some resin, light bretta again.
