Defreni (393), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 11, 2008 Flaske. Pours a dark brown, touch of red with a tan head. Aroma is a roasted chocolate, almost burnt quality to it. Flavor hits you with some hops and then again with the roasted malt. Finish is a bit more bitter than I expected, probably due to the burnt quality that was present througout. chicagodri (330), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 7, 2008 Pours a clear brown with a thick tan head. A little bit of a sweet aroma. Some nice nutty flavor, some sweet malt, and a lot of bitterness. Interesting to have such a hoppy brown, the bitterness definitely wins out in the end. mgoy (232), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA May 5, 2008 Graduation weekend in Bloomington. Mikkeller Jackie Brown is a deep, ruby-brown color with an awesome khaki colored head. The aroma is very hoppy with hints of coffee. The flavor is light with hints of nut and a smooth yet bitter finish. bhensonb (2299), Woodland, California, USA May 4, 2008 500 ml bottle. Aroma of citrus and pine. Unexpected. Dark mahogany color with a multifinger beige head. Medium body with coarse carbonation. Piney hop instantly followed by a lot of coffee. A little light stone fruit slips in, then it’s back to hops and coffee. Suddenly some chocolate is noticeable along the edges of my tongue. It’s very pleasing in the mouth. Expensive, but ya gotta pay what ya gotta pay - just not every day. The finish doesn’t quit - the flavors stay until the end. This is hop conquering malt, but in a refined, gentle manner. Lot of hop though.
