| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2008 Bottled. A clear brown beer with a big, creamy and persistent beige head. The aroma is quite intense and slightly roasted, with caramel and citric fruits notes from the hops. The flavour is the same roastiness of the aroma and notes of nuts, chocolate and caramel and then there are the citrusy hops. Soft mouthfeel, medium body at best, average/lively carbonation, quite long finish with medium bitterness and roastiness. It goes down extremely well, but this brewery has done better. goozen (1102), Leiden, Netherlands

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2008 2006 Bottle (BB 8/1/07) from my secret santa. Thanks! Pours a hazy, reddish brown with a thin off-white head and good lace. Nose is nutty and roasty with some minor cocoa and coffee characteristics. Flavor is pretty darn smooth with some notable bitterness. Don’t taste much of the chocolate, but it is rather nutty and roasty as the aroma suggests. Gotta admit every time I rate a brown ale that this isn’t one of my favorite styles so I am hard to please. This seems to be well made without any major flaws, but its just sort of "meh" for me. I could see it being a good session beer if it’s your thing. Anyway, Thanks for sending me this Jacob! mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Stouty nutty brown aroma has a hint of raisin and wood. Cloudy, dark brown amber body with a quick off-white head. Coffee dark roasted and burnt flavour has a chocolate almond background. Medium-full body. Great nutty brown blend.
