Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

Bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Pours very dark brown with a frothy medium-sized head. Aroma has roasty maltiness with notes of chocolate but also plenty of fruity elements; the hop aroma is very noticeable. Taste is also surprisingly hoppy and the roastedness and sweetness are comparably low. Hops are nearly pushing malts out of the scene with the bitterness and the exotic fruity flavour. Couldn’t detect much chocolate or coffee in the taste. Medium body, slick. This is a strange brown ale, has more similarities with IPAs than other brown ales.

Bottles bb03/2017, Delhaize pop-ups BE. Hazelnut-chocolate pour, with dulcet aromas of milk chocolate and peach ice cream spiked with that clean and flowery, near-metallic signature Mikkeller fresh hoppiness (lime, grape, peach peel). Great balance of bitter chocolate roast in the malt, good oat cream, and confident hop bursts of passion fruit peel on a hint of residual yeast bitterness. Great continental brown ale, going on PoMo stout.
