3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Flat version and indeed flat on appearance, with light hazy orange body. Vinegar, more in taste than aroma. Apples. Fairly moderate. Taste is rough, metallic. It’s okay. (On tap at Borefts 2012)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft @ Borefts 2012. Went for the flat version because of Belgian traditionalist bigotry motivations. Pours a hazy amber with only some lambic bubbles. Smell is rather weak musty lemon lambic, basic Spontan one line sourness. Taste is a bit deak, lightly dusty, touch white grapes, Spontan note sourness, lemon lambic, light plastic note, lightly bitter, tad grass in the back. Obviously flat, oily, enjoyable body. This is still a pretty weak imitation in my opinion, would chug regularly if sold at the same price as water. It does get the lambic itch but it is simply not very good.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
At BBF’12, courtesy of cgarvieuk. As Jonge Spontanale (Flat). Light amber colour, no head. Aroma of sourness, metal, caramel. Flavour is bitter, old hops, metallic, tart finish. Unpleasant imo. Didn’t like it at all.

Pitcher. Weak malty aroma. Hazy amber colour. Small white head. The flavour is malty with a mild earthiness and a little hop bite to finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
At Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma of citrus and malt with a touch of diacetyl. Sweet malty flavour with some caramel and a touch of citrus. I’m no fan of jonge lambik - but this is worse than usual.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
From a jug at CBC, May 2012. It pours slightly hazy orange-amber, with a thick white head. The nose is weak tangy citrus fruit, sweet malt, butter and a hint of sulphur/farmyard. The taste is quite odd, soapy citrus, medicinal, slightly acidic, sweet malt, some fruitiness, caramel, damp wood and butter, with a kind of tangy sweet-sour finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. Odd and generally unpleasant. I could have had a refill.... I didn’t!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours shiney gold with a fine, white foam head. Light, sweaty pale malt nose with mild tangy citrus, some straw and lemony tang. Light sweet flavor, somewhat buttery, a bit of dough, soft tanginess. Light in body with fine carbonation. Mild sweet finish with some tangy bread. Faintly sweaty and buttery. Kind of odd, though the roughness evens out by the end.
