Pailhead (4820) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - AUG 19, 2014
Can: The aroma consists of light tropical fruits, citrus, light apple, and a touch of floral notes. It pours a transparent gold with a large white head that eventually fades to a soapy film. Thereís a good amount of soapy lacing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light honey, fruit, and a touch of cereal notes. The finish has light florals, grass, and a hint of apple. Itís light-medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel.

Pours a clear and bright golden color with a nice white head that settles to a film with good lacing. A good looking beer. Aroma has some sweet fruitiness along with a bit of dankness, some grassy hops and a little biscuit malt. Taste has a mild tropical fruit sweetness and a bit of dankness at first that progresses into a bright grassy and almost piney hop bitterness. The bitterness becomes boldly astringent, providing a chalky dryness and almost peppery in the finish. That flavor certainly lingers and builds the more you drink. Mouthfeel is semi slick and light/medium bodied with moderate/high carbonation. A very bold and hoppy pilsner that that I would enjoy more if it werenít for the big astringency.

Can at home. Cloudy golden coloured with a huge white head. Aroma of hay, hops, citrus peel and candies. Hoppy flavour of candies and pine needles with notes of citrus and grapefruits. Dry hoppy finish.

35 cl can @ home. Pours clear golden with a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are grains, flowers, herbs, and caramel - with a slightly bitter finish.

Can. Pours clear deep golden with average, lacing white head. Aroma of grassy hops, herbai notes and nutty pale malt. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and nice bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft to average carbonation. A nice, hoppy Pils.

12oz can from Ft. Lauderdale Total Wine. Clean pouring gold pils color, a style I donít get too often but with the doubles and imperials popping up itís becoming more prevalent. Light head brings in a hpppy pine citrus a bit on the strong side. Grainy malty beginning quickly joined by a bitter astringent perhaps acid like bitter on the tip of the tongue which lingers awhile. Not bad but Iím partial to my Patio that just arrived in bottles.

Can from Corti Bros. in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is lightly sweety bready, and I am not smelling much hop. A little grass/grape. Med body, arguably. Flavor is a little bready, and thereís bitter, but I think something went wrong with the hop. To me this is more like a very good pale lager (oxymoron?) than a pils. With time I get fruit and herb. But Iím wondering about spice and grass. With time Iím getting some. My mouth is finally seeming quite bitter. So maybe it really is a pils. I have no idea what was happening in the beginning.

Pour a nice clear golden with head to spare. Smells abundantly of pine and citrus hops. It has an ideal amount of hops that taste just like they smell with just a hint of some malt on the finish to smooth the whole thing out. This is a great offering from Mikkeller and to me it is like Heady Topper lite. Very drinkable even right out of the can.

Can. Pours a clear pale, light orange color with a big bubbly head that fades a bit but never completely goes away. Aroma is sweet honey, fresh grain, and dry grass. Tastes very grainy. Dry biscuits, citrus peels and grass. Bitter, dry finish. The dryness and bitterness are extreme but itís still pretty decent.
